“A Uniquely Fine Bed and Breakfast”
Reviewed 18 July 2012

I like staying in a typical B & B where the proprietors live in the property too and serve the guests
breakfast in a shared dining room. Not everyone shares my affinity and, for those who don't,
the Rochester Inn presents a rather unique option. You can either eat in the dining area or instead have a lovely breakfast served in your room or suite. Besides this, the Rochester Inn offers the typical attraction of a B & B- the opportunity to stay in the midst of the taste and the elegance typical of a bygone era. Add to this the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff as well as its location in an attractive and gentrifying town, Sheboygan Falls, adjacent to the posh village of Kohler and you have a uniquely fine and reasonably priced place to stay. We plan to return to the Rochester Inn.

Room Tip: The two story suites are absolutely wonderful and worth the extra expense.

our host was a great help in selecting a nearby restaurant which just opened a few weeks earlier and was getting good feedback from her guests. we were staying one night on our way up north to ashland. She upgraded us at no cost to a loft room which was open for the night instead of the room we chose which was smaller and had less natural light. this was a gem of a little place alongside the sheboygan falls. kind of a sleepy little off the path place where you could unwind from the road. we awoke to a great breakfast of french toast and cut fruit which was awesome. I will be coming here again as I drive up north because the location is a destination in itself for taking a stroll in a turn of the century town with charm and character.

Room Tip: really are no bad rooms, no swimming pool but not a problem.

This is a historic inn. Our room was on two levels. The first level was a large sitting room with comfortable couch and chairs. There was a coffee/tea area with small sink. There were two flat screen TV's, one on each level. The second level had a nice size bedroom with writing desk and a bathroom with a great two person Kohler whirlpool. Hot water was no problem and the tub filled within minutes. The shower was also great. We stayed in May so it was warm in day and cool at night for outside temperature, however in our rooms the heating/cooling was easy - controlled from our sitting room. The cookies they served in the lobby area were fabulous. The innkeeper left at 6:00 pm but she was only a cell phone call away if one needed her, we did not. Wifi worked well, strong signal. The town of Koher was fun to visit as was the Kohler Design Center. And oh, what a breakfast! Beautifully presented and so good. The apple cinnamon laced croissant was warm and decadent. A hot gourmet breakfast delivered to our sitting room. We will go back.

We have stayed in quite a few amazing places - from small bed and breakfasts to ornate hotels in large cities - and this one certainly did not disappoint. It was the perfect place to spend the first night of our honeymoon as we traveled on. Room Number 1 provided comfort and relaxation and was a great decompression after a hectic and fun wedding weekend. The service was good, the room was clean, comfortable, and homey. The road outside can be a little noisy but the comfortable bed makes up for it. Around the American Club, this room is a hidden gem for the price.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 1, which has a west facing window. This can be a bit noisy as it is on a main roa...

Touring around soutbeast Wisconsin over the weekend looking for a place to stay. All the bigger places were filled to the gills and wasn't looking forward to any of these anyway. In a final search on the internet came upon the Rochester. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the town. No more big hotels for us!

Room Tip: I'll tell you after we stay again!

We stayed in a suite which had a downstairs living area and an upstairs bedroom/bathroom. It was very spacious and comfortable with many amenities. We requested breakfast in our room which was delivered at our requested time. It was very good and consisted of scrambled eggs, crisp bacon, fresh fruit, an English muffin, orange juice and coffee. Sheboygan Falls is a cute little town, but we decided not to eat there, although there were several interesting looking places. Instead we went to Sheboygan (15 minutes east) which is larger with more restaurants in both the historic downtown area and also the newer Marina area along the river and Lake Michigan. We ate at the Duke of Devon for lunch (very good food and authentic "British Pub" atmosphere) and for dinner at Lino's Italian Restaurant (excellent atmosphere, located on the water, great food). There are also excellent restaurants in the nearby town of Kohler (15 minutes west ). We had been thinking about going to the Rochester Inn for a number of years and I'm glad we went.

My boyfriend and I found this place after it rained on our planned camping trip. We stayed there in the middle of the week.

We were very impressed with the two story room, double whirlpool, and breakfast brought to your room upon request. (Which was delicious!!) The service made me feel like a queen.

This place also offers a great location.
It was a couple blocks from the "falls"
Its a short walk to the small downtown in Sheboygan Falls. Not a lot of food options: there was a bar and a pizza place in an old firestation. We chose the pizza place and were not disappointed.
After a 3-4 block walk back to our room we enjoyed relaxing in ultimate comfort.
I will definitely be revisting.
