We visited High Cliff State Park in one day. We did the Lime Kiln Ruins trail which was very interesting. Even the kids (7, 4, 3) thought it was neat. We then went to the observation tower and walked to the Red Bird statue. There were some neat overlooks along the trails. We didn't do any of the trails that just walk through the woods as we can do that at home. The Indian Mound Trail was also neat and had information posts along the way.
If you go make sure to stop at the general store as there is a lot of neat history inside. Also when you go through the enterance make sure you ask for a map. It makes it easier to find the right road to take you to the trails you want.
The kids swam at the beach there. The beach is quite small. It was nice though since it is so shallow. You can walk 30 feet out and still only be at waist level. It is wavy and has cloudy water but that is just a part of the lake. There is actually an information post on a trail that explains it.
A nice state park with some neat history!
