During a recent weekend at the Clearing / Ellison Bay, we asked the Clearing Visitors Center volunteer for suggestions for dinner. My companion was feeling "Mexican" and the lovely volunteer said JJ's had good margueritas. Looking for good local food highlights is always fun. Let's say that the locals LIKE JJ's too and on a Friday night, they were walking their talk and it was busy. We had arrived early enough to get a table for four of us. The menu offered a nice variety and among the four of us, we sampled a hearty salad, tacos, a burger and one of their soups for the evening, Pumpkin. The soup was very good. The waiter, a Keanu Reeves look-alike with an enviable tanned look, was more on the stoic side and very business like. He was efficient. The food overall was good and although the room rose in noise level and conversation did become more difficult as more people came in, the evening was a fine taste of local offering.
