“A hidden treasure”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Driving through Spring Green I stopped at a local gas station to ask about a hotel nearby that wasn't too expensive. They suggested one....I drove further than directed & came upon the Spring Green Motel. I didn't want to backtrack so drove in, & asked for a room. From the front facing the highway, it looks like any other mom & pop drive up motel. I was sooooo pleasantly surprised! Got a "suite" away from the highway noise. Hidden in the back was a beautiful screened in gazebo with a gas grill, & flower baskets everywhere just over blooming with flowers. The patio runs the whole length of the back of the motel with wrought iron patio furniture every other room. A pergola with more outdoor furniture is situated between a huge breakfast room & another branch of the motel again overflowing with flowers. The room itself was huge, clean, with micro, fridge, even a small table with two chairs if you wanted to bring your included breakfast back to your room. Will definitely stay here again, & recommend it to anyone who asks.

Room Tip: Take a room in the back to view the beautiful grounds, and away from the highway noise.

I agree with everyone concerning the clean rooms and the property grounds are more than beautiful. The staff is polite and got me a coffee pot for our room since the room did not have one as perhaps it was taken by a motel customer. We stayed in room 27. The King size bed is in poor condition---sagging in the middle. No heating or cooling control thermostats that you can personally adjust and the ceiling fan makes a horrible noise with all speeds. We did not want to listen to that all night..so we just had to turn it off. We stayed here due to the location of what we were doing in the area for a weekend get away from Iowa.

Room Tip: DO not stay in room 27.

This lovely family run motel is clean and spacious. There is a wonderful gazebo screened in and weatherproof enough to protect from a thunder storm. The staff was so polite and attentive to our needs.

We stayed here with a family wedding party. Looks like an average motor inn from the outside, but the grounds make it more special. Lots of beautiful flowers and outdoor community areas- gazebos, gardens, water feature, hen and duck house, basketball court, conversation tables and arbors. It was great for groups.
The rooms were very clean - a bit overpriced but the outdoor atmosphere made up for it. They serve a full hot breakfast in the morning - bacon, biscuits/gravy, waffles, boiled eggs, fruit, muffins, etc. Very nice. The staff was friendly and it was a convenient location.

Read some reviews on Trip Advisor and booked a room at the Spring Green Motel. It was lovely. Beautiful flowers abound in various hanging baskets and planting areas. There were several gazebos including a couple screened in ones to enjoy. My husband and I relaxed with a cold beverage in one the evening we were there. Nice breakfast area. We stayed in one of the newer rooms on the backside - very comfortable bed. Definitely recommend if you're traveling to or through Spring Green.

I have traveled a lot, and this place is by far the nicest I've stayed in for the price. What you must understand is that this is a roadside motel, not a five star hotel. If you are looking for a posh, five star experience then you should look into a Hilton which you won't find in Spring Green Wisconsin or the surrounding area.

That being said, the rooms were very clean, and the grounds are absolutely gorgeous. The nicest part was there was so much to do right in the motel area. There is a basketball court, volleyball sandlot, and 2 screened in gazebos. The gazebos were great for sitting outside in the evening enjoying a few beverages and playing cards. No bugs to bother you with the screens in place. And if you are so inclined there is a fire pit and a grill on the grounds, too. How fun is that? The people who staff the place were so helpful and friendly. They even make you popcorn in the lobby area where you check in. You can just drop by for some mints and a bag of popcorn. One of the staff even came out to our gazebo spot to ask if we wanted her to bring us some more popcorn. Breakfast is basic but good. There was always fresh watermelon every day, and the cereal wasn't stale which is important to me. Toast, bagels, waffles and/or hard boiled eggs were also available.

I will definitely stay here next time I am in the area. It wasn't too expensive, and it was way nicer than similarly priced hotels/motels.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back of the area away from the roadway. I sleep soundly, so the road noise di...

This is a great place to stay. Although it reminds you of motels of the 1960's cause it is older, it is very well maintained. The grounds all around this motel are beautiful. Lots of flowers, and areas to enjoy. Gazebo and screened in porch are available. There is a continental breakfast. The rooms are not spectacular but are nice. The staff is very friendly and offers advice about nearby restaurants, etc. There is free popcorn in the office area. Very enjoyable experience at a reasonably price. House on the Rock is 8 miles away.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back side of the motel maybe more quiet.
