Stayed two nights while touring the area and fishing. Room was spacious with big jetted tub in room. Nice View of beach and Lake Michigan out of all the rooms. Excellent bed. Fished for smallmouth with Dale Stoschien and I can also recommend his service. Fishing was tough and he really worked hard to put us on fish. I caught my largest smallmouth to date, but few numbers. I fish regularly and have used a lot of guides, I know number of fish any given day is not a true test. Wish it was closer to home, I would be a regular.

Room Tip: Depending on your use, you might want to select a room with rear door to beach area. I believe we ha...

Our experience with the Sand Bay Beach Resort was a mixed experience. The positives: 1.) A truly nice sand beach, 2.) crystal clear water that is warm enough in May in Wisconsin to enter because the sun can warm it because it is shallow, 3.) the view from the property of the waters of Green Bay is very, very nice 4.) due to its location south-east of Sturgeon Bay, it is very quiet and removed from the crowded, hectic, noisy typical Door County experience yet it is convenient to the offerings of Sturgeon Bay and a state park, 5.) the front desk staff was nice, 6.) the accommodations were spacious and contained features that would certainly be useful 7.) the landscaping is very pleasant and well maintained. The negatives: 1.) this property is showing its age, 2.) maintenance appears to be an issue, 3.) sheets, towels and pillows are old and need to be updated, 4.) the waterproof mattress covers interfere with a cool, restful sleep and 5.) this is a rural property and the water is understandably hard and has a strong iron taste so you may wish to at least bring bottled water. It wasn’t that we had a bad experience but rather this is a property that needs to attend to some issues to provide a more completely positive experience.

Room Tip: As always, second floor is quieter. Bring bottled water. Check the sheets for wear. Make sure eve...

What a hassle. I've tried calling repeatedly to make a reservation and kept getting the voicemail. I left messages but never got a call back. Someone finally answered the phone today but they weren't helpful and had such a bad attitude that I just gave up. I'm an experienced traveler and experience tells me that whole vacations can be ruined by having to deal with lousy service.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom bayview suite. The room was great and the kitchen stocked with all utensils you need to cook in your room. I was surprised by the old 19" TV's as I thought for the price of the room there would have been newer and larger models. Thankfully we brought the laptop and have Netflix! The whirlppool bath did not work but they offered other options as well as called for repair right away.
The beach was amazing with plenty of sand and clear water!
The staff was great...we will be back!

We stayed here for 3 nights. Our room was a king with a pull-out sofa bed and small kitchenette. Roomy enough for our 2 young boys.... The kitchenette was just enough for us to get by for a few days---and it saved us a lot on dining out...... Keep in mind, the fridge was ONLY a fridge, no freezer. Also, the tap water had a strong, hard mineral taste. That being said, next time, we'll bring bottled drinking water..... Our room looked out to the beach (very soft, high quality sand and regularly groomed) and the warm, crystal clear waters of Green Bay.....

For around 100 bucks a night, this was a good value. The indoor pool and hot tub were nice (tho the sauna was out of order) and the grounds were well-kept. The beach had plenty of furniture and beach toys to keep everyone busy, or relaxed, as the case may be.... There were gas grills located in various spots around the property... The staff was friendly and helpful.

The only reason why i didn't give it a full 5 stars is because of a few minor complaints (some nit-picky, some legit---you be the judge)..... The water could have been a bit warmer in the shower, there were a coupla lightbulbs burned out, the bed was fairly comfortable, but waterproof mattress covers are always sucky to sleep on plus the pillows were hard, the bathroom sink was clogged upon arrival, however it was rectified soon after i reported it, one of the light switches wouldn't fully turn off the light in the eating area, most of the dresser drawers were very hard to move, and finally, there was still an old-school CRT TV in the room.....

Overall, i would highly recommend staying here if you don't mind driving a bit to get to the main towns and attractions of Door County..... That's one of the pluses for us---it's away from the touristy stuff..... We plan to come back!

Room Tip: All rooms have a view, so not to worry!
