We are from Door County but received two free nights when we purchased are van this summer from a local dealer. We were not sure what to expect but it was amazing. We enjoyed relaxing by the fireplace in our room and loved the whirlpool bath tub. It is just what we needed!!! I would highly recommend staying here.

Had a lovely anniversry weekend at the Bridgeport. Beautiful view of the water with geese at sunrise and sunset each day, peaceful, romantic. Loved walking across the drawbridge as well as up to some wonderful shops. Suite was clean, spacious. Will be back.

I really struggled with deciding if i wanted to even write this review simply because I think this place is a great secret and i don't want it to be known!! After a little reflection I decided that my thought process was just plain old selfish..so here's what i think. The Bridgeport resort is just an awesome place, rooms are clean and wonderful, modern and kept up to terrific standards. The staff is wonderful and beyond helpful. the grounds are beautiful and you are in walking distance to a nice little area of Sturgeon Bay with some great places to visit. The pools (2) are fantastic, area is clean and a great time! Long and short of it...i hope this place stays the secret it is, for my own selfish reasons..but if you want a wonderful, reasonable priced place that is situated in a quiet perfect place...run, don't walk to Bridgeport Resort!

Room Tip: all rooms are fantastic..but bring your own pillow..that is the only downfall i know of and i have s...

This was our second stay and again we were very pleased. The resort is homey, rooms are HUGE with full kitchen. It is right next to the water so view is great. It's also vey clean. Front desk is friendly. Exercise room has variety of equipment. We did not swim but the pool is a decent size. We went on a rainy weekend so a little disappointed with the weather but the indoor stay was very comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed here for two nights. We had to change rooms due to availability but that was fine. The photos on the net dosent do it justice, the fireplaces and hot tubs are great. Very quiet area. We ate at Sonnys which was excellent. Took a ride to Washington Island and did a tour of the Tug boat. Hope to get back there soon. Staff was nice, some didnt really know the area too well or just didnt want to elaborate on how to get to places. Go see Cana Lighthouse too when you are there.

Room Tip: ask for a water view.

The suite was spacious w/enough room for our belongings for the length of our stay & the gear needed for our intended activities. The kitchen had ample supplies for all of our cooking needs, rather than down-sized or too few items. Everything in the suite operated properly, with the exception of the tv reception being less than desireable.
I would not call the furniture comfortable for sitting, but it was better than most hotel rooms, and roomy enough for stretching out. The hallways were well lit, feeling safe at all times, and big enough for moving luggage carts through easily. The staff were mostly friendly, helpful, and polite - eager to respond to quetions and needs.
Though we enjoyed using both the indoor & the "large enough" outdoor pools, we had some concerns. The outdoor pool is only a sidewalk's width away from a public parking lot, & an unprotected, unkeyed gate allows anyone to just walk in (which some did) - I would not be comfortable leaving my older children unattended at the outer pool. Also there is too little privacy between that pool & the sidewalk, & raucous potty-mouthed conversations can clearly be heard through the fence with no kind of enforcement to ask them to move on. The indoor pool was nice, but loud because of the children's waterfal which apparently cannot be turned off when children are not using the area.
The location is ideal for being "close to" but not "in the middle of" all the goings on in the area - it's nice if you want to retire to a quiet place away from the action for a while. Some of the other area resorts have lots of foot and car traffic much too close to sleeping areas.

Room Tip: Rooms that are "city view" face a parking lot or unsightly neighboring homes.

There is nothing better in this area. In 2 years we have been here 5 times. We started out in a smaller suite but have upgraded to getting the bigger suites for more room and better views. Everything is super clean, a great staff and a great location. We go up and down the coast but our favorite area is fish creek. It only takes about 45 minutes and it is an awesome drive to see the sites along the way. The staff is super friendly and with time it begins to feel like you are going to spend time with family. Fully equipped kitchen you can save money on eating out. The pool area is nice and heated and the spa pool is awesome...oh yea the whirlpool tub in the rooms is a great feature!!

Room Tip: Spend the extra 10.00 for a excellent view of the bay
