Two couples spent two nights in a two bedroom unit during the third week of July when the temperature was in the 90's. We were surprised to find that the second bedroom was not airconditioned. Made for a couple of uncomfortable nights that would have been intolerable had it not been for the ceiling fan.

Thanks for your review of our property. I am glad your enjoyed your stay! I am sorry that the second bedroom was uncomfortable during your stay. Typically the A/c unit in the living room and/or the bedroom is plenty of air flow to keep the room cool. We often rely on the breeze from the waterfront rather than the air conditioners - but during those few days in July when it went above 90 degrees, even in Door County, we had several comments about the lack of A/c in the 2nd bedroom. I am glad that the ceiling fan brought some relief and that overall you enjoyed the hotel and your stay in Door County!

This was our first time in Door County and our first time at Westwood Shores. It was absolutely perfect, for what we wanted. Nice views, very quiet, very relaxing. Hotel itself was just right. Plenty of room, helpful staff.

This was our second visit to Westwood Shores. The views from the rooms are outstanding. Staff are very helpful. We appreciate that the resort is quiet and clean. It was a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend. We will stay here again.

We stayed at Westwood Shores early in the summer. We had a 2-bedroom suite. It was perfect for our family of 4. We got to experience nature, state parks, sights, and also had the kitchen and amenities that made life with 2 young kids so much easier. The unit was nicer than it appeared in photos. The video game room, round the clock cocoa, and indoor pool were a big hit with our kids. They also had free dvds to borrow which was great. The whole place is very tidy and well maintained. The grounds were beautiful. We were a bit concerned when we couldn't get a premiere corner suite, but it didn't matter at all. The views were breathtaking from every window in our unit. The balcony was large, plenty of room for a meal, but we used it for drinking coffee or a glass of wine. The master jacuzzi tub was great, very large. It was a good location, close to Sturgeon Bay but not "in town". I have to agree with the other reviewer who commented that the couch was uncomfortable, it wasn't very important, but we were very glad we went with 2 bedrooms rather than having the kids stay on the fold out couch, because we did all our movie watching and reading in the bedrooms. The value for two bedrooms and a full kitchen and resort amenities was unbelievable.

Room Tip: The standard, non-premiere suites on the 2nd floor have beautiful full lake views and all the same f...

Every room has a beautiful view of the water!! The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly.

The indoor pool is kept warm for cool nights and the sauna and hot tub are extremely clean. Was not brave enough to swim in the outdoor pool, but borrowing the paddle boats was great!

Close to many restaurants and grocery stores.

Will definitely stay here again!!

Room Tip: Ask for a two-bedroom suite that is on the end of the complex for a more private balcony.

This hotel is right on the water overlooking Green Bay. Spectacular vistas morning and night. Indoor and outdoor pools are a plus. A little out of the way. About five miles outside Sturgeon Bay. Not great for bike riding. Restaurants in Sturgeon Bay were great.

My family came up for a week long adventure at Door County. We had a 2 bedroom suite and we were very happy with the space and the furniture. We were very comfortable and really enjoyed our room. The kitchen was perfect and had everything we needed for just about everything we could think of doing. The pool area was very large and the view was beautiful. We enjoyed the DVDs you can borrow and loved the idea of having DVD players in our suite.

The only negatives. Cell phone service was a bust. We ended up using the landline and was thankful for the free long distance. The internet was pretty bouncy. Even though it said great connection it was slow. The DVD player didn't have a remote so we had to use the old fashioned way of walking up to it to get it to play.

The negatives are only little and overall we were very happy with our stay.
