My husband and I spent the night at this motel before touring many of Door County's lighthouses the following day. We loved the hospitality we received from the moment we walked in the door. She even told us that we had picked one of her favorite rooms since it was one of the few where you could somewhat see the water. We had great Wifi and TV channel selections. We loved that we could walk along the water fronts and were close enough downtown to walk to shopping and restaurants. We went to the Nautical Inn for dinner, which was only two blocks away. I slept so soundly at this motel, and we also enjoyed the self-serve breakfast in the 50's style diner in the morning. We would definitely come back to this motel. It may not look like much on the outside, especially with the huge resort across the way, but the price and service make it totally worthwhile, and the inside is absolutely wonderful!

Room Tip: The website allows you to pick your own room. We stayed in 128 and loved the view out the window. Yo...

Did a little vacation in the absolute middle of NON-tourist season late April ... 40s, rain, alone...almost! The lobby looks like Christmas all the time! The room was fine and the breakfast buffet really was a throwback to a 50s diner... only it was self serve! Tiney, cozy, comfy ... met one other guest in from Tennessee ... that southern drawl way up here in Wisconsin just made everything seem even more friendly! When we were leaving the fire department had closed down both ends of the street! I guess they were washing the street or cleaning the hydrants or something... that was the most exciting thing going on all week! It was a great place to relax and chill out -- not sure I would like it as much in dead summer or winter when all the crowds arrive... but for off-season the service was still great!

This place had a really cool feel. I work as a contractor, and stayed here multiple times. There are other options for hotels in this area like the Super 8's etc....my employer booked me here on my first nights stay, and upon pulling into the lot, I was like jeez...really??? I was certainly wrong. From the outside it looks like an old hotel, but the inside is a different world. Has a music theme going on with a 50's - 60's decor. There is a lot of fine detail put in to this hotel. Pretty sure whoever runs the place has OCD and a label maker. Everything has a label.....how to open the blinds, soap dispensers, light switches....etc.

Also, I typically stay at cheaper hotels, and then complain about how the internet service sucks. Not this place! The bandwidth was screaming fast. There was no option to pay $3.99 for enhanced internet service like your Motel 6's etc...

Overall.....I will come back to this place again in the future. Stayed here in the brutal winter, would love to see this area in the summer.

The hotel has a retro feel with the original tile and furniture. Comfortable beds. Fun place to stay!

Location is close to the bay, so we could walk in the downtown area or across the lift bridge right fro the hotel.

This is a small two-story boutique motel of the 50's era. The lobby is decorated with a Christmas tree, musical instruments and toys of that era. There are steep stairs to the second floor. The rooms and bath are small with very little space to put "your stuff" so living small is key. But, the experience is worth a few nights (we stayed 2 and would have more if remaining in Sturgeon Bay). The staff were pleasant and accommodating. We happened to be there on a Thursday night which is the night of the week that the motel's owners (musicians) allows other musicians to come to their studio (upper floor of motel) and do two songs. The style and abilities vary but an interesting opportunity to observe local talents perform. Be advised the area is small and the chars are straight back. But, for free one should experience some or all of the evening. The motel is located only 2 blocks from downtown and 1 block from the Sturgeon Bay waterfront which has a walkway allowing easy access and viewing of the bay and local boating areas.

Great rooms, great staff, very clean and lots of fun. Love the continental breakfast in the diner. We were sorry that we didn't play an instrument. Close to good eats and the steel bridge. This is a great starting off place to explore Door County and a great price.

Room Tip: all rooms are good?

Holiday Music Hotel got us with it's impeccable, art deco, boutiquey feel and design at a reasonable price, and it did not disappoint. Rooms are very comfy, nothing out of place anywhere, and every amenity of a big chain, with stylish feel. Thanks, MJ!
