This was not the worst hotel I have ever been in, but would be a runner up. The hotel seemed very dark and gloomy. The room was small. The bathroom was really small. The carpet was dirty. The room was really hot even though we did not have the heat on and had a window cracked. The hotel is surrounded by run down buildings. It was definately not worth the $120 per night that we paid. We had not stayed anywhere is this town before and were just happy to find a hotel that allowed dogs, which is why we chose it. Next time we travel to this area of Wisconsin, we would cross the bridge and stay in Duluth, even if it means we can't bring our dog on vacation with us.

We found a coupon for $39 in an area brochure. Checked in early and did not see the room. The lobby, pool area and grounds looked nice. Came back after dinner. The room smelled moldy. We turned on the AC to see if that would clear the room. There was an earwig living in the controls. Asked the desk if we could see another room. That one was just as moldy smelling. Asked for our money back. No hassel from the clerk. He was very nice about it.

I stayed here for 3 weeks in February for Business in the area. I picked it becasue they gave you a free fast internet connection. It was frigidly cold and my car had problems starting, but luckily I did not have to go outside much. The pool area was nice with a hot tub and sauna, and on weeknights, they have a free happy hour at the pool, which was nice. Apart from the weather my stay was great. I would definatley stay there again.
