Stayed here for one night in August 2012. Stayed in room 235. The bed was very comfortable, halls were quiet as we were near the end of hall. A/c worked great and really kept room cool, but was louder than most. There is fridge and microwave, desk, also easy chair and table. One of the bedside lamps did not seem to work. Bathroom is very small, and limited counter space, also had shampoo, lotion, 2 bar soap, but no conditioner. Connected to Perkins and were given 10% off coupon at check in. Also a cheese store is right next door that has some great cheese, gifts and treats. Paid $88 for one Friday night. Probably would not stay here again if in the area, entire hotel seemed dark, and nothing special.

Thank you for your review! When guests take that time to share their experience weather good or bad , it says that they care and the input helps us make changes if we need to. I agree that the lights in the hallway are a little on the dim side, we remodeled our hotel last year and put new lights in the hallways but even that did not seem to brighten them enough. So, thanks in part to your review we are in the process of rectifying that situation! Also, I would like to address the problem with the bedside lamp not working. We also replaced our lighting in the rooms at that time and the switches seemed to going bad almost immediately. We actually ended up replacing about 20 switches so far. Again, thank you for review and please come back to see us if you are ever in the area!

One of the first reviews of this motel mentioned it had recently been refreshed. I think it needs to be done again. It is a big motel that seems rather dark and well used. Our room was OK. It was clean but could use a fresh coat of paint to lighten it up a little. The back entrance door lock, which once had a card reader installed, was taped open with duct tape not giving me the most secure feeling.

We recently traveled between Minneapolis and Chicago over a long weekend and stayed at the Best Western going and the Hampton coming back so I can make a good comparison. Both hotels had friendly, pleasant staff. The lobby of the Best Western was dark and univiting, plus there was a bar attached with blaring music as you entered the hotel. Rooms are on the other side of the building so we couldn't hear the music. Hallways were dark, old doors looked like they needed replacing and muddy carpet - gross! I was afraid to enter my room, but the rooms are clean and nice. But walls are paper thin and the "neighbors" were talking til 3 am!
I don't like the Best Western brand. Overall, i have found them to be inferior to the Hamptons and Fairfields. This was no exception. For 20 bucks more, the Hampton Tomah was 100 times nicer and included breakfast. Make a reservation- they fill up. Guess I'm not the only one who perceives the Hampton to be the best value in town

Stayed here because they said the rooms were renovated. Not the best job if they were? “Or maybe we didn’t get a renovated room” The rooms are done in a dark colors. This made the all ready tight room feel even smaller. The frig and microwave were free standing like they were thrown in as a afterthought. They were very beat up with scratches and dents. In the bathroom the wall paper was peeling. Hair left in tub area. And as our traveling companions said about their room (that didn’t look much different than ours) it was like they kept some of the old and added a little new to the rooms. I know that hotels are public spaces, but I sure do like them when they are really clean. This hotel could have used a good vacuuming in the hallways... Check in was so-so. The gal got the paper work done in orderly fashion and was nice enough, until I asked if she could look up my B.W. perks number so this stay could be added. Then she snapped and said she didn’t have time and that it would take her to long, to come back later. I can’t say what made her busy. And surely would understand her being busy if there were people waiting to check in or out. But we were the only ones at the desk. On a positive note. They gave us coupons for the bar, and restaurant next door. Which we used both of them. IT was nice to have a bar right there in the hotel and be able to have a drink and not worry about the driving. Also the price was right. In my opinion it’s a good place to hang your hat if need be. Definitely not the worst place I’ve stayed at. But if I was in the area again I would try another hotel. Then I would have something to compare it too.

Most impressed by the large pool and family friendly games area. Not so impressed with the lack of a continental breakfast. The room was adaquet but seemed like it needed a bit more attention to detail with the cleaning.
We paid just under 100 buck before taxes which seemed high based on the location and services offered.
Very dissappointed with the fitness area. None of cardio equipment was working and there was no free weights. Place is fine for a night but wouldn't want to be there any longer then that.

They really cater to people with pups. They have a great off-leash area and a waking trail around a pond behind the hotel. We had a great experience.

The property building is very large. The room was OK, but seems a bit tired. the hallways also need some refreshing. Having a Perkins Restaurant attached to the hotel was a plus.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our hotel! We have gone through a major remodel this year which included new carpeting and lighting in our hallways and sleeping accommodations. I am sorry that your stay was less than perfect. If there is anyway to compensate, please feel free to call and I would be happy to do what I can. Again, thank you for your review.
