“Terrible customer service. Great room.”
Reviewed 24 March 2013

We stayed at the hotel on may 23rd overnight. First impression was awful. Building is in shambles. Dirty carpet, bad smell, torn wall paper, crowded dirty lobby. When we checked in we were asked for our license plate number and vehicle make and model. We were not told this over the phone so we held up the queue for 5 minutes to run back out to the car. I feel we should have been told that over the phone. Once in our room, different story. We stayed in a suite. May as well as it costs not much more than a normal room. Very impressed. Huge, clean, open. Plenty of space. 1 half bath, 1 full bath (huge) with jacuzzi bath. Living room space, 2 42" LCD flat panel tvs, wet bar, microwave, coffee maker, plenty of closet space. We don't stay in hotels outside of international travel so I didn't know what to expect. I must say I was surprised, impressed. Don't let the outside appearance sway you. Grit your teeth during check in and get to your suite, worth it.

This is my second business stay at the Turtle Lake Hotel. Based on the bedding and carpet, rooms not updated recently. This is nothing fancy, but it meets your needs of a very inexpensive hotel and free hot breakfast. Access to coffee and juice is available at all times. The Pioneer Press paper delivered to your front door is also included. Hotel includes workout room, pool, and sauna, which I have not used.

Room Tip: Odd numbered rooms face the back of the complex, even numbered rooms overlook the parking lot and Hw...

We go for a guy's weekend every year and end the night at Turtle Lake. The hotel is perfectly serviceable. The nicest part of the joint is the pool/hot tub area which is quite nice. The rooms could use a little spiff but it sounds like they might be replacing some carpet, etc.

We always have a great time and it's right across the parking lot from the casino which is nice becaus you don't have to cross the busy highway.

While planning a visit to the area, we decided to stay at the hotel again.
Allison took our reservation over the phone, and provided great customer service.
When we arrived, we received a better rate on our suite by using our players club card!
The room was welcomingly 'themed', spacious, clean, and well maintained.

Our dinner in the Casino restaurant was delicious(walleye), and our server, (Jeanie), was friendly and prompt.

We'll be back.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less foot traffic in hallways.

I really like this casino. It is always clean and doesn't smell like smoke. Has a great snack bar with very cheap prices and also a good buffet. Only thing I am mad at them about...they took out my 1 cent Clown Progressives! Its not like no one played them...there was always a wait to sit down! Since they took them out I haven't been back.

Our family met at the St. Croix Casino Hotel at Turtle Lake to celebrate Thanksgiving. Our extended family is in Ohio and the Minnesota families have their own celebrations. We ate Thanksgiving buffet which was very good and the price was reasonable $10.99. The wait was quite long (1.5 hrs.) compared to what we experienced the past 2 years at the St. Croix Casino Danbury. But the staff was very friendly. We will probably go there another time.

We joined the players club and then the room only cost us a little more than $40. It was a good clean suitable room for the money, The breakfast is the normal spred found in most hotels. The hotel is located across the street from the casino, which I didn't see as any problem.
