“Great get away”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2014

Great get away not far from Minneapolis. Fantastic rooms with everything you could ever want from a B&B. loved the sitting area, the fireplace, the balcony and the Keurig is a really nice touch. Felt like we were in the middle of the woods but really just minutes from casino and town. The trail, lake and back road were all a bonus for some light recreation. Breakfasts were very good. Innkeepers were nice. The details and extras were a nice treat ( water, pop, k-cups and popcorn).

Room Tip: Can't remember what it was called but was upper level with star decor. Looked at all the others...

For our month of March Wisconsin Bed & Breakfast retreat, my wife and I visited the Canyon Road Inn in Turtle Lake. Patti and Turner, the Innkeepers, showed us and all the other guests incredible hospitality. We had booked the Lakes Suite, a lower level room that walks out to the lake. All the Suites look out over the lake and unlike many Bed & Breakfast, each suite is truly a retreat. One could be perfectly content in your suite all weekend long. Each suite has a fireplace. Most have a jacuzzi whirlpool. It goes without saying that the breakfasts are worth the price of admission. But I think the experience of the Canyon Road Inn can be best summarized by the saying on the wall of our suite - "lengthly Breakfasts, lazy mornings, relaxing afternoons, romantic moonlit evenings". Our experience was that thru the rich environment that Patti and Turner have created at the Canyon Road Inn, we were able to experience all four.... It was a special weekend that I would highly recommend that you experience.

This was our first Bed and Breakfast experience and we will definitely be back to this one! We had a gift from our girls for a bed and breakfast and we were looking for the perfect spot and found it. We love snowmobiling and so we were looking for somewhere close to the trails that welcomed snowmobilers. Our experience could not have been better!! Turner had the WSN (Wisconsin Snowmobile News) magazine and a Polk County trail map on our dresser waiting for us in our room. He told exactly how to get to the trails and it was the beginning of a great stay. We snowmobiled around the back of the house, across the lake and we were on the great trails. We also can not say enough about the beautiful rooms, wonderful robes and sheets, and the food was to die for! We opened our door to the smells of home. The aroma of bacon drew us to the table and we enjoyed the BEST cream cheese stuffed French toast we have ever had. I am a French toast connoisseur and I just let my hubby and Turner talk while I savored every bite of my breakfast! Which brings us to our hosts, Turner and Patti, they were so welcoming and friendly and we felt so relaxed and included in their home. We had such a wonderful stay, we plan to go back in the spring or fall and experience the hiking trails and relax on the lake. And we'll definitely be back for more snowmobiling!!

My boyfriend took me to Canyon Road Inn over my birthday week for 3 nights. This has been our 2nd time and my 3rd time at this Inn. It's my favorite B&B!

I love - Patti and Turner - the Hosts - in addition to making wonderful delicious breakfasts, they are warm and welcoming! They know a wealth of information about the area. On this particular trip, they put a bottle of champagne in our room for my Birthday.

I love - how quiet it is, right on the lake. We stayed in the Homestead Suite which is my favorite. It overlooks the lake and is very quiet. Has a hot-tub and a gas fireplace. They have a selection of games and movies and there is a TV/DVD in the room. We saw 4 wild deer right on their property.

Even though we stayed for 3 nights, I think two nights is plenty. There is not much to do in the town (the casino is all smoking :() and so 2 nights would have been fine too.

The only couple of things I would change if we could would be -
An earlier check in time
A later breakfast (breakfast is served at 9am, except for JAN 1 - it was served between 9:30-10:30am which was a TREAT!

You won't be disappointed in this stay - it will exceed your expectations! :)

Room Tip: All rooms are wonderful. I especially like the Homestead Suite. The Haven is huge and very nice with...

Stayed for 2 nights in The Haven Suite which was sweet indeed! Claw foot soaking tub for bubble baths & a huge shower with multiple shower heads & body sprays. Comfy king & sitting area with gas fireplace. Patti & Turner were gracious hosts & the breakfasts were a real treat. Lake Skinaway is right outside your door with boats for guest use & abundant wildlife. Truly a magical getaway.

We booked for one night while on our way from Minneapolis to Madeline Island. We arrived later than anticipated but were given a very warm welcome and as they had no one else staying just then we were given a full tour and choice of rooms. The setting is lovely, next to the lake and we had a great nights sleep in the big comfy bed as did my mother in the next room. Unfortunately we hadn't time to take advantage of the Jacuzzi bath. Everything was spotless and the breakfast was delicious and Patti and Turner who run the place were charming.Like other reviewers we were disappointed not to be able to take full advantage of the facilities provided although we did manage an early morning walk near the lake. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room overlooking the lake.

We decided to stay on our way to northeastern Wisconsin and had a wonderful time. Our room was quite large and included a whirlpool and balcony. It is just off hwy 8 but on a back road. You really feel like you are in a private spot, though you can hear the highway from outside at times and you can see the casino across the lake. The hosts were helpful but also gave us privacy. They gave us many dinner suggestions. Breakfast was filling as well as good, and they also offer gluten free. They have free wifi, a nice game room, and selection of DVDs. There is also a fridge in the common area with complimentary drinks, etc. We went on a canoe ride in the morning - amazing lily pads and waterfowl! Our only regret is that we didn't take advantage of the fire pit. We would definitely stay again.
