This will be my 4th visit to the Inn. Each time has been better than before. Just a wonderful place to kick back or enjoy all of the activities the island has to offer. Can't wait until we arrive! The little ferry(Karfi)to rock Island is right next door. Nature trails are also right out the door. Great area for biking. Just a perfect slice of heaven!

Room Tip: All are quiet. Rooms in the main house are closer to the communal kitchen. Whatever you choose you c...

Extraordinary experience; from the greeting, hints on what sites to see and where to eat, even a mini-forecast so I knew which day to hike Rock Island. Room was exceptional, private bath, private deck, mini-kitchen, gas fireplace. My hardest decision was where to read my book-- in the room, chair on the deck, or one of the swings on the grounds. Beautiful landscaping with gorgeous flower beds.

Our family of two adults and three teenage children had a relaxing stay at the Jackson Harbor Inn from June 18 to June 21, 2014. The owner, Pamela sat down with us right when we arrived and pointed out good restaurants, shops and museums to visit during our four days there. She gave us a quick tour and left us to explore the property on our own. The shared kitchen was fully stocked and clean. There were staples that could be shared so we did not need to bring them. Butter, salt, pepper, etc were on hand for all the guests to use. Each room had its own small refrigerator but if that was not enough, the full-sized refrigerator in the shared kitchen had plenty of room for our overflow needs. Our room had an outside door with a small patio, a picnic table, chairs and an umbrella. Our three teens were thrilled that there was internet access. Although, our cell phones could not get service, text messages could be sent and received. There were no tv's on the property. We went into town to watch the World Cup on a rainy day. I would highly recommend the Jackson Harbor Inn to any traveler. On a side note, not about the inn, but about the mosquitoes, they were out in FULL FORCE all around the island. Bring your best spray, it will be needed.

Room Tip: We preferred to have an outside entrance to our room. The room next to ours was the same size, but...

I was so impressed with Pam's warm hug as a greeting to our overnight stay at Jackson Harbor Inn this past Saturday evening. It was the first time we had met, it was 6pm on the evening of an island couple's wedding (that she was hosting and supplying the food for). And she was in the middle of getting ready for being a hostess for what looked like at least 200 people. I've never seen someone so relaxed and gracious. And although we didn't have a huge room (last one in the house because of the wedding) and weren't staying long (only one night), Pam took the time to ask if we needed any guidance for what to see on the island. The next morning she was up early and ready to greet us with the same hospitality and advice as to where to find wildflowers on the island! I was thoroughly impressed....I would definitely return! And Pam if you read this: Thank you so much for making someone who had traveled on two boat trips in one day and had been out in the field taking pictures for over 12 hours, feel like they were coming home! And also entertaining 200 of their island friends!

Room Tip: Call Pam for the perfect room!

Stopped back at the Jackson Harbor Inn and had another great stay. Pam the owner installed a wifi booster so I was able to use the internet without any issues. Hope to be back next year. I also saw one of the rooms with 2 queen beds. It was very spacious with a sliding door to be able to walk outside and enjoy the view.

Washington Island is absolutely beautiful with the fall foliage in early October. The harvest celebrations offer lots of things to see and do. The Jackson Harbor Inn offers a great get away. With beautiful rooms, beautiful views and a friendly people. The lack of TV and phone can be accommodated with Wifi if you really feel that you need them.

Just sit on a swing and watch the waves on Lake Michigan.

Get away from it all and just relax. Very relaxed casual atmosphere. No phone no tv just a very wonderful place to kick back. Room was large bed comfortable bathroom. Very nice recently remodeled. Great view right on walking trails and of course the harbor. They even let you use the kitchen if you want to do some of your own cooking
