“Terrific Fish Fry”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2014

We visit here often! The fried fish and the lemon pepper grilled fish are both excellent! You can't beat the potato pancakes and homemade applesauce! To top off the meal you HAVE to have a piece of Janette's homemade pie or cake. . .yummy!

“Home town cafe at its finest...it should be on "Diners, Dives and Drive-ins"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014

I have fond memories of the Arctic Circle as it was known in the 50's and 60's..as an American Graffiti (movie) type of drive in...but today.. Daddy Maxwell's is a true slice of Midwest Americana...with great food, a fun atmosphere...and owners that view it as much more than a cafe..i.e..a community gathering place. They are known for many things...including amazing home made pies and cakes...and great food. My wife always watches her diet... but she had to have a piece of strawberry-rhubarb pie a la mode... after breakfast...and took a piece of 4 layer cake to go. I had a monstrous french batter pancake. It was terrific.
The portions are very generous... even on the senior menu... and the servers and staff are all fun and efficient. You may stop their for the food....but you will probably "feed your spirit too."

“Funky fun and great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014 via mobile

Had the Little Max for breakfast. The largest 2 EGGS EVER. More like 4. 5/6 slices of bacon etc. It is small but we have never had to wait. There is a counter. They also have a full menu for sandwich etc.

“Who woulda thunk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2014 via mobile

Meeting Williams Bay friends, he suggested Maxwell as it would not take us too far out if the way of our driving route. If I had known how good it was, how far out of the way wouldn't have mattered, it was THAT GOOD!
A small converted Ice cream parlor turned out the BEST patty melt I have ever had. My husband could not believe it when he looked over and saw my plate empty, as I NEVER eat more than 1/2. Everyone at the table ordered something different, and we each have our meal a 5 star rating. The atmosphere is casual and clean, old fashioned. The wait staff was appropriately casual and humorous with us...while still serving in a timely fashion. We will be back.
