We came on a Friday and had the fish fry. We wait quite a bit for our food and thought the salads left quite a bit to be desired. The fish fry though was excellent. We also had a piece of pie which was fantastic. If you're looking for a good fish fry and dessert be willing to overlook the atmosphere when you come.

We were biking along the trail when we saw a sign and decided to stop in for a quick snack. When we finally found it, it was a nice little facility with excellent service and exquisite pie.

This place was recommended by our campgrounds owner and we liked it so much we ate supper here twice! It's conveniently located down the road from Tunnel Trail Campground where we stayed. A couple of our guests were also staying at the B&B here (which they said was not a great setup). However, the food, atmosphere and service were much more than we'd expected! Friday night we came for the Friday night all-you-can-eat fish fry. We were a little sad that it wasn't a true WI fish fry with perch, but it was still good cod. While I'm not a fan of prime rib, I'd have to say that the Saturday night special was THE BEST I'd ever tasted. Everyone regretted not ordering the larger portion! I had a great burger there, and everything local was excellent. The Italian food a couple friends ordered was hit and miss. The pesto was unavailable and the substitute was very to greasy and inedible. The combination plate was a hit on 2 of the 3 offerings on the plate. I'd suggest sticking with the basics and enjoy! I also like the history behind the place, very fascinating!

The staff is unbelievably friendly. The food is terrific. Try one of the pies - they are outstanding. Prices are very reasonable. The setting in a restored one room schoolhouse is very well done.

Whether you're biking the Elroy-Sparta State Trail or out for a drive in the Driftless Area of Wisconsin, you're going to want to stop by Dorset Valley School Restaurant. Housed in an old one room school house, the restaurant, bakery, and beer selection are all superb. This place is the real deal!
