The hotel is immaculate and has great food. It's basically a giant indoor water park with four different areas appropriate for children of different ages. The water areas are well-staffed with life guards and are secure. Breakfast is pricey - bring your own cereal and milk or whatever the kids like to eat and your own libations/snacks, Very nice for younger children (under thirteen). More mature tweens and teeanagers may be bored with the concept and/or annoyed by the youngsters though there is a video arcade. Our four- and five-year old granddaughters were delighted. Story time at 8:00 p.m. is fun but the animated story is the same each night. There is a lot of climbing up a lot of stairs with floaty tubes for the water slides. If you have any knee/back problems, it will be difficult and tiring. Very pleased overall.

Our third annual trek to GWL was our best yet. Check-in was a major traffic jam around 1 p.m., but the line went very quickly. The staff was very knowledgable and called us on our cell as soon as our room was ready. We already had access to the waterpark, so waiting was no problem. We stayed in a Grizzly Bear Suite, very spacious, on the 3rd floor. I have read some concerns of bed bugs, but had no worries after inspecting our room. I'm not sure where those reports were coming from, but, trust me, I'm a little OCD and found the room A-OK! I only had 2 beefs. First, the Canyon Run slide was out of order the whole 3 days we were there, otherwise, the waterpark was spotless and the lifeguards were relentless with jobs! Second, the herd of elephants that were trampling the floor above us didn't calm down until 11 p.m., but what can you expect? Kids will be kids and this lodge does cater to families!

The beds had new bedspreads and sheets on them. There was an abundance of pillows, which surprised me. The 2 showers were very spacious and clean. TIPS: bring a portable drying rack, especially if you have a fireplace. It puts out enough heat to dry suits really quick. We go in November, so putting clothes out on the balconey isn't an option. And bring your walkie-talkies! If you can spring for the Grizzly Bear suite, get it. Two bathrooms are so worth it. Our first year, we did the kid-cabin and quickly found out that there's a lot more room in the ones that didn't have the 'themed' den.

We didn't dine in any of the restaurants or do the Magic Quest.

We greatly appreciate that you took the time to share your comments about Great Wolf Lodge. Your feedback and tips are spot on for a larger family in need of extra space.

I'm sorry to hear that Canyon Run was down for some maintenance issues while you were here. Our goal is to always have our waterpark operating at 100%, however we must put the safety of our guests first.

I hope your fourth annual trek will be just as, if not more, successful!

Best,

We always stay at Great Wolf. I've tried other Wis Dells hotels- never as nice as this. My kids love the clock tower show & ice cream shop. The beds really need to be replaced- the bad beds nearly ruined the trip. The Magic Quest game was expensive & boring. The arcade was supposed to open at 10, but nobody came to open it until 10:30.The waterpark was fun, but it needs a little TLC. The pads at the bottom of the kid's slide is all ripped up & looked icky. I wonder how clean the water is, I got a terrible ear infection after swimming in the wave pool. When we stayed in the summer, the outside pool was like ice water. Too cold to enjoy it at all. It can get loud here too with kids running down the halls. On nights when they are busy, perhaps having staff walk the halls to ensure noise stays to a minimum would be helpful. We had kids playing football in the hallway outside our room at 10pm. Check in is always a pain- long lines never seems to be enough staff. The hotel is clean & priced nice when you can get a promo. I just wish they would make a few simple upgrades to make it amazing. That being said, I will continue to stay here it is light-years better than the competition.

We stayed at the park on a Wednesday night through Friday morning on our second time visiting. When we entered the pool area on Wednesday evening it was noticeably colder than we remembered it from our last trip. My wife was shivering and we tried to find some water that was warm. I thought maybe it was the cooler weather that came in that day but it was the same the next day on Thursday. Friday was much warmer inside and was much more pleasant. We wondered if they turned the heat down on the off days and only turn it up for the higher rates on the weekends. Poor service if that is true.

The rest of the stay was pleasant. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfy. The breakfast buffet was very good. Everything was cooked well and fresh. The Halloween activities were also a nice touch. Free WiFi was also a bonus. I would recommend the hotel to a friend but only on the weekends.

We wanted to take our kids on a mini-vacation- far enough from home to be something special but not break the bank. We found coupon codes & booked a 4 night stay for under $500 and were excited about everything they had to offer. When we got there the initial impression is amazing- well decorated & kept- our kids were in awe lol (ages 9 & 4 at the time). Our room had been upgraded free of charge to a fireplace suite that was wonderful & comfortable. The park itself was perfect for our age range of kids, lots of stuff for the younger guy with enough exciting stuff for the older guy. We played there hours every day in both indoor & outdoors parks. The food on site was good but a bit expensive -but that wasn't a problem since the area had to great eateries around we explored those instead. The staff were all helpful & kind. We were in WI Dells of course so we did other things during the day but all in all we had a very inexpensive & fun vacation thanks to Great Wolf Lodge!

I needed to investigate the waterpark more ahead of time. Aside from 1 more dramatic slide, it is basically geared towards small children. I was hoping my 12 and 15 year old would want to spend more hours at it, but they would have liked a few more slides. It is located right on the freeway so it is well worthwhile figuring out how to request a room on the parking lot side to minimize traffic noise. Is a short walk or drive across large parking lot to the Tangers Outlet Mall.

We visited great wolf lodge at Dells with 2 young kids. Most of our time was spent at the indoor water park and both the kids (3 and 7 years old) had fun there. The lobby is very welcoming with the clock tower. We arrived there in the afternoon and decided to check out the water park. The kids enjoyed the cozy lazy river and in a few rides decided to move on. The next best thing they found was in the wave pool area. It was hard to get them out from there. With that we wound up the day and had pizza at the restaurant.
The room was fairly decent in size and looked like it was recently updated. It was a short walk away from the water park. But it was not too tiring. Overall we were happy with the amenities provided there and it met our expectations. We were a little late for the free breakfast the next day. When asked for it we were directed to the restaurant on premise and we did not realize that we were being sent to a paid breakfast. It would have been nice if it was clarified to us.
From our hotel room on the third floor we had a view of the top section of the water park. From our room we could see as folks climbed to the top before going for the tornado ride and also the Coyote canyon rides. This had the kids excited about it when we started the next day at the water park. However the 3 year old was not tall enough and the 7 years old was feeling a little intimidated by the tornado ride and so we had to skip that one. The fort Mackenzie area was good but was not able to interest them for more than a few minutes. The count down and the big bucket over turning when filling out was very exciting for them.
We were out for a short time in the outdoor park and it was also very enjoyable and clean. There were plenty of chairs available and we enjoyed some lazy time as the kids went around swimming through the water fall type area. Going back indoors there are nice hot pools which felt good from the slightly cold weather outside. Across from the hot pool was another deep pool where families were enjoying water sports. They also had good floats which provide memorable photo opportunities especially with small kids. Overall the indoor pool area was clean except for some slides for very small kids that could have been better.
Initially we were planning on going to a competitor water park in Dells which was highly recommended by friends. But at the short notice that we were planning on going there, there was a huge price difference between the two parks and so we settled down for Great Wolf Lodge. I think it was not bad for that first visit to Dell water park area. But for the next trip we would like to check out other water parks there. Overall we enjoyed the stay and it met our expectations.
