First off this house and property are amazing and beautiful. My wife and I had rented the Dresser house for 5 days as a getaway and location for our wedding. Anna was amazing and happy to help or accommodate us with any special extra requests (extra grill and baby crib at the house). Before booking, we wanted to see all three Log Gable Properties and Anna gave us a tour of all three. The booking process was as simple as calling Anna and putting down a deposit.
The property is just beautiful in September and we received many compliments on choosing the Dresser House as the venue for our wedding/reception. Our big day was a small affair that hosted approximately 80 guests, but you could definitely host larger parties. The house is huge and will accommodate large families easily. There are several beds on all levels of the house (Basement, main floor, and 2nd floor).
One of my favorite things about our stay, besides getting married, was the wildlife that we were able to see on the property. Deer frequently wander through the yards in the morning and evenings, there were a couple turkeys that ran through, and so many different types of birds.
Whether you are thinking of having a wedding, family reunion, or just a getaway you need ample space for family, the Dresser House is definitely worth your time to check out.
we stayed here summer of 2014. we were a of group 21 people, 5 families. Every family had their own space if they wanted privacy. There was enough space for us to eat of hang around all together at once. Truly a beautiful place, the location is perfect, away from all the hustle and bustle but still close enough if you need anything last minute. Front yard looks out to a gold course, back yard has a nice walk out basement to the fire pit and some bush where we had wild visitors almost everyday. We are planning on going back summer of 2018 and will not book any where else. Ann is fantastic to deal with, very reassuring and accommodating. We felt very safe booking through her and never once doubted her. Can't wait to go back. The kids absolutely loved the house!
Log Gables has listings on Expedia and VRBO, however when you try to actually book their rental property, they will inform you that they only take money orders or credit cards over the phone, and will not accept reservations through VRBO or Expedia. They will give you a long explanation about how these companies charge an extra 15% and how its more secure for them this way. But at the end of the day there is no way im going to pay $2500 over the phone to book a rental property directly without any guarantees from a reputable vacation company such as Expedia and VRBO. These companies provide guarantees which is what you pay for. Log Gables also requires full payment up front. After talking with the owner for sometime they said I could book through Expedia, but when it came time for me to actually book she changed her mind and said she wouldn't open up the Expedia listing and would only take direct payment. Seems like a huge scam to me, did not end up booking the rental property. I would recommend staying far away from Log Gables.
