“cheezy but pretty fun”

if you take it for what it is and actually try to get into the story you will enjoy yourself.
ill start with the negatives.....they take too many people..thats a big one because there are certain areas where its impossible to squeeze everyone in so they can see and hear, also theres an area you are supposed to search...kinda hard when its crammed with over a hundred people...
also some people always have to be jerks and make lots of noise and act like a holes...ruins it for others...(f you 50+ year old man acting 12 to get attention)..makes it hard to hear or pay attention. that may also lessen if they reduce the group size and say take at least 2 tours a night...smaller groups is the key to perfection.

now the good
on the boat ride both my girl and me looked at each other and said..this is gonna be stupid cuz of the "acting" but nce we got to cold water canyon the ambiance and the mystery crept in and we were like OK lets give this a chance. then the walking through pitch dark...creepy and felt dangerous even tho it wasnt.
then the story line kicked back in and was interisting and suspenseful...then the searching (see above)
then the frights...everyone was screaming (even the 50+ year old B) then darkness and fog and erie green lights then things chasing and screams and stuff ahead of you and and and....my girl was freaked she couldnt stop laughing (what she does when shes scared).
all the way back to the boat...if you have let yourself get into it then your heartwill be pounding!

loved it!!

“We enjoyed this!”

Our party had 2 adults and 2 teens. We had a lot of fun on this. The story they played out was kinda dumb but you go on a boat to witches gulch and get out and walk and we really had a lot of laughs on this along with seeing witches gulch, which is really cool! Of course they try to sell you a picture at the end for $20.00. If you like to have fun and don't take it too serious you will like it. I would recommend it!

We are two 22 year-olds who did the 9:30 show. It was so much fun first you get to ride the boat at night under the stars and moon so pretty! The performance needed help but it was still fun and a little scary. The lady states we had a small group though I thought it was to large I can't imagine a full boat. We had a buy one get coupon which made the price right there is no way I would pay full price for this! We will defiantly do this again next year.

“Just go with it.”

First, and foremost… before you book this excursion go look at their website to see if this is what you really want to do. The website clearly tells the story. It’s not historical, nor is it a sight-seeing trip down the river. Second, get a two-for-one coupon. It made the price about right.

Now, what can I say about our Lost Voyage adventure? For these two 60-something grandparents and our 13 year-old grandson it was fun. I think it had just the right amount of scary for a 13 year-old. Sure, the acting wasn’t great. But it was a show, and should simply be enjoyed for what it is. We were on the 8:30PM tour, and knew it would be dark on the boat ride and the walk into the canyon. (It was night. It was supposed to be dark!) We enjoyed the evening ride on our way to the site and could still see much of the river as we went. Riding back the stars were beautiful on the clear night. We were very impressed with the skill of the boat captain as he navigated perfectly in the tight quarters of the final destination.

If you are with kids, try to find one of the clues because they are traded in on the boat ride back for small prizes. We found one and my grandson received a pair of headphones in a Lost Voyage pouch. He declared it one of the best souvenirs from our vacation.

If I had any “real” complaint it would be that the walkway was just too dark. It really needed glow tape or foot lights. There were some areas that it was virtually impossible to see and made the adventure less fun for us because we were so concerned for our footing we couldn’t just enjoy the action. Then toward the end of our tour, the guide got so far ahead of us that the last half of the group was left in the fog trying to figure out where to go. It would have been nice to have a lit path at that point especially. All in all though, I can say we had a good time.

“Definitley not as advertised.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2013

The presentation prior to getting on the boat did little to prepare us for the experience we would receive during our voyage. The boat ride to the exploration sight was uneventful and boring as we just looked out into darkness on the river. The driver of the boat had some difficult docking the exploration sight. Upon departing the boat and starting the exploration, there was no direction from staff on what to do or where to go. The whole exploration of the ruins site turned into a haunted trail experience with people yelling and moaing while we tried to navigate the canyon in the complete darkness. This was not what I paid for. I would not recommend this attration and wouldn't do it again in the future.
