My family and I stayed at the Polynesian this past weekend. It was dirty. There was food on the floor from the previous guests stay. There was a strange moldy, musty odor when we walked into the room. Every time the air came on it was blowing a very moldy smell into the air. Being that my son is asthmatic we had very little sleep and had to nebulize him 3-4 times a night. We left at 4:30 am the second day of our trip. What a dissappointment, plus a health hazard. If you have a child with breathing ailments I definately DO NOT recommend this hotel. On the up side the waterpark was fun and the hotel servers/lifeguards were very accomodating and friendly.

we went went to the polynesian 2 years ago and we loved it our daughter was 9 1/2 and her friend was 9. they loved it. the people there are very friendly and everyone had something to do even if that is sunbathing. we let the kids go to the slides they wanted to go on without us because it was not that bug we just told them to check in in a hour or so every time. they never got lost of hurt. we didn't have to wonder around the hotel looking for the front desk we would just know where it was. it was easy for kids this age. i would recommend this hotel for everyone with kids 4-9 year olds. the polynesian has a lot of kids areas. we stayed at this hotel 2 years in a row we loved it. and if you do stay there make your reservations in advance is you want a pool view or a joining room. if you do stay there make sure you can avoid buying food from the hotel it is kinda pricy. i hope you like this hotel as much as we did.

We Stayed At The POLYNESIAN RESORT For 3 Nights, Our Kids Ages 9 & 6 Loved it!!! They never had to wait in any lines for any of the slides. They never got bored. The hotel was clean, and the staff as very helpful. The Waterpark is for guests only, so it was never crowded. We had a room by the pool, It was A little small, but was ok because we were hardly in it. I Felt safe there, They had lifeguards everywhere, even though my son wore his lifejacket when he went in the water. I thought the hotel going to be crazy because went the week of the 4th of July. The kids are already asking to go back!

My family travels to Wi Dells every year. We usually stay at higher cost resorts than the Polynesian but thought we would be thrifty this year due to another big vacation coming up. Well, we got what we paid for. Polynesian is affordable but the rooms were small, noisy, dirty and smelled liked mold. The mattress was uncomfortable and we hardly slept. Our room was dirty on the day we checked in. There were crumbs and a toothpick left in a drawer. There was no daily housekeeping. They should have told us this at check in. We asked the housekeeper for service and she said "like what do you want"-she came in but just made the bed up and didn't empty garbages or vacuum. Pools were okay and clean. Much more for smaller kids, age 8 or less. Staff overall, were friendly. No real restaurant, just grills with a not bad and affordable selection. I advise families with small children to stay here, lots of wading pools. Make sure you pick a bigger room and 2nd floor poolside is nice. If you have older kids, put out the bucks and stay somewhere like Wilderness, Kalahari, or Great Wolf.

My husband and I took our three boys ages 13, 6 and 2 to the Polynesian for a quick getaway this weekend and we were so pleased that we are considering a return later this year! This resort is PERFECT for families with small children and even our 13 year old couldn't find anything to complain about. It was never a long wait for the water slides, the lazy rivers weren't packed to capacity and the little ones could romp freely without competing with the older kids for space. We stayed in a two bedroom with a kitchenette and it is definitely worth the extra money. Overall, the entire trip was very reasonably priced without sacrificing quality.

This was our first trip to the Dells. Wasn't sure what to expect after reading some of the mixed reviews here. We didn't need to worry! The staff was very friendly and helpful our entire visit. The hotel and waterpark areas were clean and well staffed (i.e. lifeguards). They are actually in the middle of room renovations so in the near future will be even nicer. There are no pools over 4' deep or so, so great for kids (ours are 7 & 8). All waterslides & lazy rivers have lifeguards so no need to worry about safety. Indoor and outdoor waterparks are terrific. We were there for a week and our kids never got bored. Great location, close to downtown and tourist attractions. Overall, a great place to go for a family vacation and not break the bank!!! We had a room with 2 Queen beds, a sofa sleeper/sitting area, micro, fridge, balcony for $110.00 a night with tax. We will go back!!

I'll get to the point....My family really enjoyed the Polynesian's waterpark. However, the hotel room left much to be desired. We needed to change rooms because our first room was on the first floor overlooking the parking lot (we paid for/requested pool view) and was also dirty. The second room wasn't much better, but at least had a nicer view. The room was pretty dingy and not up to my "clean" standards (I don't think it would be up to anyone's) The bathroom was filthy! I did complain upon check-out but the staff seemed less than interested in my complaints.
