“Very Disappointed”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

We decided to get all of our kids together for the weekend in the Dells. With 6 kids and a granddaughter and son in law, ranging in age from 1-23 it can be a challenge. Our first night with just our 4 youngest boys we stayed in a different hotel. it was decent. Our second night we paid $710 for just the one night at Mt Olympus in their village. It was quite far from the parks, but that was fine, we didnt mind. What the problem was, was that if you keep buying all these properties in the area and keep parks open to the public as well, then they need to start adding a lot more rides and slides. The 3 hours after close for hotel guests was a joke. There is only 1/4 of them open. It was a beautiful hot August day they should have kept more water rides open. The inside waterpark was ridiculous. I guess for that kind of money for one night i expected it to be better. I loved our room and when we needed extra pillows and towels, they were brought to us right away. I feel that they bit off more than they can chew with buying up so many hotels. There parks cannot accomodate that many people and keep them happy. Our first hotel was bwetter for the money and we were given Noah's Ark passes. That park was busy as well, but not as bad as this.

From all the negative feedback I read I was expecting a hell hole. Seriously people, what do you expect? Room was as pictured, had TV fridge, microwave, iron board, iron, hair dryer. For $240 for 2 nights we got 4 all day passes and parking for 3 days that's a $225 value in itself. So stop complaining about this not being a 4 star hotel.

Not worth it. Horrible management. 1. Room was ok. Bathroom was outdated and there was mold in our shower and it wasn't clean (gross). 2. The park got dirtier as the day passed. I saw no cleaning crew the whole 3 days we were there. There were beer bottles and cigars all over the park and TRASH everywhere! 3. Their staff are young adults from oversees and so trying to get information for them was difficult because of their language skills. 4. Indoor water park was CHAOS! Again poor management. 5. Outdoor amusement park was lame. No other way to describe but lame. 6. OVER PRICED!

5 day trip to Mt. Olympus. I wanted to cancel prior to arriving after reading other reviews. I thought I should write a review in case others had the same thoughts. We stayed in a themed rooming the "village" (2 queens + a bunk). The room looked just like the pictures. It was very clean. Bring a coffee maker or run to the local Walmart (they sell a cheap one for $9). There was a nice sized park with tennis courts behind out building. Perfect for a cigar and down time. My sister stayed in a older Olympus motel across the street. It was clean but looked like it was out of the early 80's. She did say it was loud because of the thin walls.

There is a lot of walking here. Our room is about 5/6 blocks from the water park. It feels like a mile comming back because its all up hill. If you have a little one like our 5 yr daughter, bring a little stroller. The park it built on hills like most water parks. Good walking sandals will help.

The parks are busy. Drive to the theme park. Go to the roller coasters/go carts at open and stay a couples of hours. At open you don't wait too long. The popular water slides can have long waits too. The crowd was very friendly. Our 11 and 12 yr old boys loved the theme park and water slides. They have a great little kids water park on the lower half. They also had a nice, but older kids park in the upper. My daughter preferred the upper. We spent more time at the upper park than the lower. It's older but laid out nicely for the family. The kids liked the upper wave pool a lot. The lower slides are really fun and some time should be spent there.

The staff did have heavy accents and where from foreign decent. This seems common through out the Dells. I'm not sure what the story is with this but would love to know. They where all very friendly to us and great at the kids pool with my daughter. I don't think they where under staffed.

There are cons. It is very busy. The indoor pool is crazy at 6 pm. It's hard to find a place for your stuff. The outdoor parks close at 6. I'm not sure why they don't stay open another hour. Olympus must have boughten up a bunch of old motels on the strip. The motels and lots could use some updates. More outdoor common areas would be nice. Adding some park style grills would be nice.

Overall it was a good value and nice to let the kids play at the pools each day after we did other Dell activities. The only complaint about our room was the distance from the resort. It would be nice too kick back with a drink at a smaller pool each night.

- Book the themed village rooms with the curved shaped bunks. These rooms are nice.
- bring a stroller for little kids. Puddle jumper life vest are perfect for the pools.
- bring a coffee maker and coffee.
- bring extra hangers. It will help for drying swim suits by the a/c unites.
- a small charcoal grill would be nice for the park behind our building.
- go to the themed park right at open. We went a few mornings for about 2 hrs at a time.
- find some chairs at the water park and make the meeting spot prior to turning the kids loose.
- we brought a back pack to the water parks for car keys, books, ect and a Tupperware container for glasses and dry stuff. Was never worried about someone running off with it.
- wi-fi worked good. Would not support video streaming.

3 star score. Great for the price. Not a 5 star resort. Could be a 4 star resort with updates and improvements. We don't have a 5 star budget for Wisconsin vacations. The kids had a blast and that's what really mattered to us.

Room Tip: 2 queen bed + bunk themed room

walk into room next to ice machine, first room, toilet and a fridge and microwave just as you entered. so if you were getting ice, and someone was on the toilet , or a man was peeing, whoever was getting ice would see. then you go through another door, and there was a shower, sink, and bed, open another door, and you were on the balcony that was shared, so if you showered and got out without being fully dried and dressed inside the shower, whoever was on the balcony got to see you in all your glory. Just finished making love and opened the window to look out, and a kid was staring in the window.... wonder what he saw seeing that the curtains didn't close all the way....oh by the way, the room had no carpeting...

Room Tip: go somewhere else cheaper, and get free passes...... this was way too expensive and the rooms was th...

This trip was booked for a girls week stay to enjoy the Dells, no kids included. We knew our hotel would be offsite from the main park (building #19), it was 2+ miles away. Check in was supposed to be 4, we did early check in at 3, our room was not ready until 4:30. The hotel room did not look anything like the pictures online. The queen size bed was more of a full size, even though the hotel assured us it was truly queen. The only plus for our spot was the location of #19 bldg being right by the downtown main street, walking distance to bars, restaurants and shops. This is not a place you would want to stay with kids, there is nothing there for them to do. You would have to walk or drive them somewhere for any entertainment. There is only 1 shuttle to the night club, that does not start until 9 at night. The main water/ride park is extremely overcrowded with Mt Olympus having 30+ off-site buildings plus visitors buying in for the day, you cannot swim, you are waiting too long in lines for the slides/rides. You will spend most of your time walking. I would not take my kids/family here but for a girls/adult week it was OK. TIP: If you like coffee bring a coffee maker, there is only instant packets with no coffee maker and just plastic cups...

We stayed there 4 nights in building 26; at first glance room looks clean, but the bathroom shows a few mildew spots on the shower walls and ceiling..otherwise I guess for the price not too bad!

If you are having difficulty walking, you might want to pay a little more and be closer to the park.
