“Ruined Family Vacation”
Reviewed 17 August 2013

Just checked in as a Bluegreen Timeshare owner to Christmas Mountain. The front desk clerk was extremely rude and unwilling to offer any compensation for issues with the pending stay. It seems that they closed the indoor pool for cleaning one of the busiest weekends of the year. Very disappointed that they did not bother to mention this when they called and confirmed the stay 2days ago. I even mentioned to the agent that we were looking forward to just staying on the property with our young children and swimming and hanging out. Also discussed with the Bluegreen/Christmas Mountain rep the chances being very good for an upgraded unit. Yeah, the extremely unpleasant desk clerk made sure that didn't happen. Over all very disappointed in the Christmas Mountain staff and shocked how little it means to be a Bluegreen Timeshare owner here. For as much as one pays for the Timeshare and the ridiculous annual dues upwards of $800/year (started as $200 eleven years ago) you would think they could at least extend you the courtesy of having pleasant and friendly customer facing representatives.
One last thing the units are joined at the bathrooms and from the bedroom while in bed you can hear what the guests in the adjoining room are doing in their bathroom. Long night ahead.

Timbers are being updated, which is much needed. Nice king beds in the master bedroom. New queen beds in the 2nd bedroom and a comfy sleeper sofa in the living room. Pool area was great but the water was very cold. Even the hot tub was not hot. Hot tub at the main building was also luke warm with young kids jumping all over. It used to be 16 or over in the hot tub which was great. Golf course is great. Ample parking. Full kitchen with full size fridge. Great location close to the attractions at the dells. Could be an outstanding place with some focus on amenities.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the newly renovated rooms as the older ones are pretty run down. Timbers area has its...

We are Bluegreen owners and planned a family reunion here. We got a great 2 bedroom, 2 bath townhome. There is a huge whirlpool tub in the bathroom off the huge master bedroom upstairs! I love having a full, stocked with plates/utensils/cooking equipment, kitchen so we can make breakfast here before get going. The front desk and concierge people have been really helpful. These people, especially Paul and Chef Corey, have been so helpful in planning and executing the 2 meals for 50+ people for our reunion. Everything has been wonderful. Thank you, Christmas Mountain staff! We will definitely come back again. It was a bonus that there was a car show, band, bull riding, chair lift up the mountain rides, and other activities going on this week.

Room Tip: You might want to ask for a room with less stairs if you have problems walking them.

We had a nice stay at Christmas Mountain Village (CMV). We stayed in a 1 bedroom townhome which had a separate bedroom with a queen bed, large closet (could use more hangars) and a separate living/dining/kitchen area. The kitchen had a 4 burner stove, full size refrigerator, microwave & dishwasher and was stocked with dining service for 4. Our unit had not been remodeled yet, but we understand that they are working on this.
The biggest issue for us was not having cell service at the resort. The resort does offer Wi-Fi, so we were able to communicate via email & social media, but we had to drive into town to get acceptable phone service. (The resort is located about 5 miles outside of the Wisconsin Dells town).
We were there as a couple, no children, so we did not take part of any of the waterparks, etc. in town. However, we talked to some of the locals about wineries & microbrews in the area and got some fantastic recommendations. (The concierge staff didn't seem to know much about anything not specifically promoted by the resort.)
We ate at Mulligan's (the restaurant on property) and were satisfied with the atmosphere, quality, service, etc.
The golf course looks like a very nice course, but we did not play golf on this trip.

This was my 16th visit. I have stayed in almost every kind of unit. My family owns Blue Green points so we have had the flexibility to try a lot of the accommodations. This years experience was met with a fabulous first impression. We were in a villa on the Pines G.C. 2nd hole (Unit 27). Beautiful remodel. But you will find some of the remodel may not be durable enough for constant use (e.g., sink hardware in kitchen). All new towels and bedding were fabulous. Beds were close to the "heavenly" beds Hilton, Westin, etc. advertise. The ground still need some work. There are huge beautiful planting and pots everywhere, that I loved, but you will see some other reviews about bee population increase and stings (we had two kids stung 3x each within first hour at villa pool). The bushes and such from the former landscaping are a mess. Mulligans still offered an average meal and drinks. This year we didn't use the clubhouse pool or mini golf and fishing area. It was nice to have the $25 per adult, child, golf cart in the afternoons on the Pines golf course. Parking remains a big problem at most the units. Because C.M. assumes that only one car will park at the unit and the other will park in overflow, there is always a shortage of parking (obviously, because people don't want to hike all over). I guess the only other thing I would point out is the need for Christmas Mtn to further convert this into a resort style setting - having to fetch your own paper towels and tissues, take your own trash and garbage out and strip your own beds is sort of demoralizing considering the cost of the cost of the resort stay. Overall, an excellent time as always. Staff is always pleasant. We will be back for my 17th visit in 2014.

Room Tip: Skip the townhomes altogether. Steep stairs and no outdoor sitting areas (lawn is non existent, pati...

1 bedroom townhouse. LOTS of narrow wooden steps to door on most units. asked at check in for less and luckily got one with just a few steps. nice clean unit. other half of townhouse was 2 bedroom unit with upstairs. occupants were quit noisy. uncertain if it was kids running up and down stairs or they had a heard of elephants with them. may have just been that they were extra noisy or else the walls are way to thin.

Room Tip: 875 very few steps

We have stayed here several times over the last 10 years. About 8 years ago, we found roaches in one of the condos we stayed in. We reported it and they said they would spray, but never did. When we came back to visit, I inquired about the roach problem and they stated that they have never heard of anyone ever complaining about roaches in the past. We ended up staying in another condo and guess what? More roaches. When I mentioned it, they said it was wood roaches from the surrounding woods. These units need to be shut down, deep cleaned and bug bombed.
