“Had a great stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2014 via mobile

We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit, loved that we were able to cook our own meals in the full kitchen instead of having to order take out or go to a restaurant.
Also loved having space and privacy like an apartment, so we were not all on top of each other like a standard hotel room. The 1.5 bathrooms were great to for getting ready in the morning!
No complaints when it comes to the suite thats forsure! Even when I couldn't find a spatula and called to get one it was delivered pretty quick considering how long those hallways are!
The water parks were awesome, we all had a blast!
Staff was friendly and helpful with the exception of one staff member at the towel booth being extremely rude but we didnt let that spoil our fun. We are going back in June to enjoy the outdoor parks as well! Can't wait!

My family of four (2 adults, 2 kids ages 7 and 3 1/2) recently stayed here for two nights. We had a 2 bedroom condo. I will say upfront that we got a great rate, and the entire lodge itself is nicely decorated and very attractive looking. With that being said, I think it's time to spruce up the rooms themselves.

Upon entering our unit, we were impressed with all that's in there. You could definitely bring your food items with you and prepare and eat all your meals in unit. We didn't choose to do that, but that is an option. But as we looked more closely around, some of the furniture needs to be replaced. The arm rests of the large, wing-back style chairs are all worn. They looked shabby and out of place in such a nicely decorated unit. My kids had a bunk bed over a full bed (which was perfect for them), but the full bed was saggy. Might be time to replace or repair somehow.

The waterparks available are numerous! We had a lot of fun! I'd recommend taking the shuttles that are available out to Wilderness on the Lake. That has a smaller waterpark which was a lot of fun for our kids, especially my almost 4 year old.

We would stay here again and would recommend this lodge to our friends and family.

We stayed for one night, because we hosted an at-home wedding celebration at the Glacier Canyon Conference Center. A block of double queen sofa rooms was set aside for our group at the Glacier Canyon Lodge.

Check in was fine, though we were pressured by the Wyndam sales people.

Found our room easily. While rooms were large and could nicely accommodate a family of 4, the beds were double beds, not queen-sized beds as advertised. We're used to a queen bed, so neither of us slept well with lesser space. There was definite wear and tear in the room, particularly with the furniture, which could stand to be updated. I would have liked to have a sink in the bathroom, not outside of it.

Rooms are not soundproof by any means. We had a connecting room and heard people next door. We also heard people walking around above us. That was expected with so many families - and it is a really nice place for families - but slightly annoying. This is not a place for couples, I don't think.

We had the temperature in the room lowered at night, but still got hot while sleeping. We couldn't figure out how to keep the ceiling fan running and still have the lights off. Instructions somewhere would have been nice. Maybe we just missed them.

We did not have time to use the waterpark, and felt we paid quite a lot for just the room. Since they give out armbands, I wish they would let people reserve rooms for less without waterpark access. Yes, we could have stayed elsewhere, but since our event was held there and other family members were staying, we opted to stay.

Our celebration went well, and everyone commented that the food was good and the bar service was good. We had a good time.

I've now stayed at the Wilderness Hotel, Glacier Canyon Lodge and Wilderness on the Lake. Between the three, I would return to Wilderness on the Lake, not the others.

We love having rooms with kitchens so we decided on GC for our trip to the wilderness. Aside from the pesky Wyndam salepeople when you check in, things went smoothly. We got our room at about 3 pm and were very impressed with the size. Both bathrooms were the largest we have ever had in a hotel room. The kitchen was clean, well stocked, and open. The dining area was cramped though between the kitchen and the living room chairs. Our room had a king size bed, which was very comfortable, and the kids had a bunk in their own room which they loved. Both were clean. My only complaints about the room were the grungy couch and the 2 chairs were very worn...the "leather" was completely gone from the arms of the chair. It would be nice to have extra sheets and blankets in the closet. We were on the 3rd floor around the back of the building and there is quite a ramp to get into the building. The only maid service for these rooms is trash removal and fresh towels every day, which were done for us.
We expected to walk to the main building but, trust me, your legs will be sore--everything is spread apart. There are a few places to get coffee in the building but most close at 12 which we were not aware of until it was too late. Most of our stay it was quiet..except for the 8pm nightly jumping and crashing noises above us. The hallways were quiet.
We love being able to cook our own food in our room and having our own bedrooms so this worked out great for our family. We will visit again!

We stayed here for one night on the way back to Minneapolis and were very pleased with the condo facility. The kitchen was huge, the bedrooms were well appointed, with comfortable mattresses and the living area was roomy and nicely decorated. Since there are really no good restaurants in the Dells, we stopped at the grocery store and made dinner there, which was nice after a long day of travel.

It is definitely a large property with lots of walking to get to the waterparks.

We were somewhat disappointed in the waterparks - they are too spread apart with only a couple of water slides or raft rides at each one, so they got old pretty quickly. The website is somewhat misleading saying there are 4 parks - three are onsite at this location. THe fourth is at a completely different property which is not within walking distance.

Stayed here thinking it was upscale compared to Wilderness. Dust and pony tail between wall and couch. Hit couch and dust came out. Top of shower dirty with a cherry stem laying on ledge. Maids didn't shut our door. One restaurant for breakfast. Workers rude in bar said they don't have enough help. When called to complain about dirty room house keeping never came to clean. Not sure we will ever go back.

We stayed at Glacier Canyon 1 night. Our grandson was celebrating his birthday with a surprise trip to the Dells, and he and his family were staying at Wilderness on the Lake. When we booked, we were told that staying off-site was not a big deal because the shuttle ran every 15 - 20 minutes from place to place. After we checked in at Glacier Canyon we called for a shuttle to take us back to W on the Lake, and after approximately 1 hour and 3 calls later, one finally arrived at which point we found out that the shuttle that had arrived could only drop us off at the hotel where we would need to pick up another shuttle to take us to Wilderness on the Lake. It took approximately another 5 - 10 minutes for that shuttle to arrive before we were finally on our way to W on the Lake. I called and spoke with, I believe her name was Penny, who was supposedly the manager at Glacier Canyon. I explained how much time we had lost because of the shuttle issues and requested some type of compensation. I was told that the shuttles are complimentary and therefore there would be no compensation. Yes - they are complimentary, but they are advertised as a15 - 20 minute wait, and nowhere does it say that if you are staying at Glacier Canyon Lodge, you should expect a much longer wait. I can only guess this is because they are privately owned. AND....although the shuttles are complimentary, you are required to use them. If you park in any main Wilderness Resort lot during the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. you may be ticketed and/or towed. I understand they were at capacity and I was also informed that they are usually at capacity this time of year. THEN HIRE MORE PEOPLE AND GET MORE BUSES. Our return trip from Wilderness on the Lake to Glacier Canyon was just as horrible. Shuttle dropped us off at the hotel where we waited for approximately 15 minutes for another shuttle to take us to Glacier Canyon before giving up and deciding to walk the skyway to our room in Glacier Canyon. It was a very long walk and we got lost. We had 2 tired childred with us and had to grab a luggage cart so they could ride on it. Luckily an employee named Isaac took the time to escort us to our room. Room (standard 2 queen beds and pull out sofa) was small and poorly layed out and it was very noisy throughout the night as others have complained about, but I can accept all of that. Precious time with our children and grandchildren was lost and the attitude of the supposed management left a lot to be desired.
