“Family Fun for any age”
Reviewed 8 October 2010

We spent 10 days in Wisconsin Dells this last summer and had a very memorable time. We split our accomadations between the KOA and Jellystone Park campgrounds. Jellystone Park has a wonderful pool area with many kid friendly activities but we did find the park was overcrowded and it did damper our time spent there. The KOA was a little more low key but still offered a decent pool area.
As far a as attractions there is really plenty for all ages. Our kids are 7,6 and 4 so we stayed away from Mount Olympus as we thought we'd save it for when the kids were older. Noah's ark was a highlight for all of us and we could have stayed in the wave pool all day. We also hit the Deer Park, Tommy Bartlet show and the Original Wisconsin Ducks. Would definitely recommend all shows. The shops downtown offer much to choose from and makes for some nice strolls.
We normally like to make sure never to hit the same place twice in our efforts to expand our areas but we know we will have to come back soon!

“The Las Vegas of Wisconsin...”
Reviewed 7 October 2010

Have you ever been to Las Vegas? The saying is "What happens in Vegas...stays in Vegas". That is similar with the resort destination of Wisconsin Dells. People come to this place to wear their swimsuits and bikinis, enjoy the waterparks/theme parks, and party like Vegas.

“beware of using coupons”
Reviewed 19 August 2010

My family (2 adults and 2 kids ages 11&13).wanted to take a last minute vacation before school had started so we choose wisconsin dells as our first stop. We had done alot of checking online for deals and coupons, so when we got here we bought the book and adventure pass from Chula vista resort choose 7 attractions for $59 per person so we did it, how ever make sure you get all the fine print on when you can use these coupons, And when you do watch for the rude people behind the counter my goodness you'd think they were getting a commission on how much they take in for the day i have never been treated so poorly by employee when we did, This town needs to clean it up the main drag going through town my god your better off parking your car and walking every where b/c you are taking your life into your hands trying to drive. The parks / attractions need NEED some updating can of paint goes along way people, The best part of the whole trip has to be the Tommy Bartlette show amazing show and funny 2nd half.Chula vista had to have been the rudest customer service i have had. I would never stay here i had called a few times for availabilty and adventure pass info and wow they need a make over on a few employees. The one i talked to on the phone i would have fired on the spot.i would never recommend chula to anyonethe dell boats could use a good coat of paint too.did the jet boats and lower dells ride was the best. over all i would not come back nor would i recommend any of my friends to bring their kids here i would tell them to pick someother place for fun.

“Kind of Over the Top Commercial, but Kid Heaven”
Reviewed 3 August 2010

Honestly, we weren't too excited to come to the Dells based on all the commercialism. It's really over the top. However, our 7 year old really enjoyed it so this is for him. We bought the "Wisconsin Dells Pick-A-Pass" at Christmas Mountain Village (Bluegreen Resort) and that worked out well. We figure it saved us about $50. It offers 8 attractions and you can pick 4 of them. I think we paid $54 for each pass. We picked:
- Mount Olympus Water and Theme Park: Fun place, not too huge to be overwhelming. We avoided the water park after being totally grossed out by our fellow humans (large and overly tatooed) at Holiday World in Southern Indiana earlier in the summer, but the theme park was fun. Several roller coasters and go-kart attractions. Our son loved it. Lines were short because the day threatened rain. If they had been longer, it wouldn't have been worth the waits because most of the rides were pretty short. You get an all day pass with this pick a pass- the only thing it doesn't include is food and some crazy bungee rides.
- Pirate's Cove golf: Very nice miniature golf course (5)- you get one free round of 18 holes free with each pick a pass.
- Original Wisconsin Duck Boats: Interesting vehicle. Fun little ride. You get to go out on the Wisconsin River and Lake Delton, going from land to water and back several times.
- Jet Boat Adventures: This was our favorite. They take you very close to the dam (which scared me but delighted my husband and son- the "thrill seekers") and give you a very good and interesting trip on the Wisconsin River (longer time on the river than the Duck boat). They showed you the unusual sandstone formations in and around the river, made it into small places a bigger or less agile boat couldn't go (they only need 10 inches of water), and you saw quite a bit of the riverside flora and fauna. We saw Osprey, deer, turtles, and a bald eagle! (I was really excited about the eagle.) And they did some crazy turns and stops that got everyone laughing and soaked. (If you don't want to get wet, DON'T GO!) Sit towards the back to be a bit dryer- the first three rows got totally soaked, but they seemed to love it. This was much more fun than I would have expected.

The Dells is tacky, yes, but it's all geared to kids. The kids will have fun and if you parents go along and just grin, you'll be okay too. :-)

“Overpriced!”
Reviewed 23 July 2010

OK for a long weekend - but the entire town seems to be one big extremely overpriced tourist trap. $6 for an icecream cone? !
