Have driven by this restaurant for years and finally stopped in for Friday Fish Fry. They don't open until dinner and are closed for the winter months. There were four of us in our party and we agreed that it was the best Northwoods area fish fry we've had in terms of selection (walleye, icelandic cod, perch) and breading (not too heavy, not too salty). The accompanying cole slaw was excellent as well, but must downgrade a bit due to the greasy fishy tasting french fries and the spinach salad which had about 4x too much dressing that turned it into a soup. Be prepared for a wait -- we had a reservation and still waited 30 minutes to be seated, but once we were seated, service was smooth. Nice bar if you can get a seat. Recommend if you are in the Minocqua Northwoods area.

The Plantation has been a staple in our Northwoods vacations for decades. I remember as kids watching Mom and Dad go out for their 1 night sans the children and now its a favorite of ours as well. Ribs are amazing-our recommendation is to go later in the evening for meat that falls off the bone. The housemade BBQ sauce is delicious and we always ask for a heavy handed serving on our meals. I also enjoy the creamy garlic dressing.

You kind of feel like you have stepped back in time to a 60's Supperclub when you go here. If you are lucky a guy in the neighborhood might happen to be in playing the piano in the bar. Speaking of the bar, they have crackers and cheese to munch on while waiting for your table. Their prime ribs is good, but my favorite is their grilled shrimp. Best of both worlds get the combo. I also love that with every meal you get your own plate with 3 or 4 appetizers on it, I think the last time I was there it had a cucumber rye bread, chicken wing, and barbequed frank.

Stopped on A Friday night and enjoyed an outstanding meal. The veal Oscar was perfectly cooked, loved the wild rice pilaf as well. Sour dough bread was also good. It. Would be hard to find better food at a better price in the area

Free appetizer with the meal were lame. I heard they Re the same appetizers his dad uses to offer. Time to update! Food was good, not spectacular. Service was odd. The wait staff has been there forever, like 20 years. They are a little unprofessional, acting a little too personal. We tried it, but would not go back.
