I stayed in one of cabins with a kitchen for 9 days. The cabin was well equipped and the staff was always willing to help. The location was close to shopping and sight seeing but quiet and somewhat private. Great place for hunters to stay.

There were so many good reviews for this older motel we decided to give it a chance. We agree, it is a "cute" western, log cabin motel but does NOT offer the comfort of other choices on the market and it is pricey for the quality and age of the cabins---however this is typical of this area. Our log cabin is very small, but relatively comfortable and clean. We have a queen bed, microwave, frig, TV, table and chairs, wifi, etc. Everything is squashed into a very small area, but we are cozy and warm in spite of snow outside. The owner is very helpful and friendly. No breakfast but a nice, safe playground for children. Best feature for us is being able to park by the cabin door for easy unloading.

Room Tip: There are some bigger cabins if you need more room.

Our cabin was clean, fresh and comfortable! What more could you ask for? Ask George at the front desk and he'll tell you whatever you need to kow about the area. Great stay at the Z-Bar Motel. They are also biker friendly for those of you who are on their iron steeds.

Room Tip: We had a cabin, not a room with the motel side.

My wife had stayed at the Z Bar with her late husband and loved it, so we stayed there on a recent trip to Montana. It's from a different era, as others have pointed out -- quaint, charming, and the staff was wonderful. You won't get a mini-bar, but we had a kitchen unit with all the accouterments, and it was wonderful. The owner told us the next morning that they had put a lot of work into renovation in the cabin, and it was very nicely done, with new tile, fresh paint, and a new sink setup. They obviously take a lot of pride in the place, and if you are into finding "non-chain" places to hole up for the night, you'll like this place a whole bunch.

A through back to the days before interstates and hotel chains. Clean, comfortable and a great value in a beautiful part of the country. Within walking distance to town. George, at the front desk, was a wealth of local knowledge and made great recommendations for dinner and breakfast. An excellent place to stay if traveling by motorcycle.

Room Tip: Any one of the cabins should be ideal.
