This wonderful historic monument is experiencing a revival of activity with their Thursday night Jam sessions. If you plan a trip to the Buffalo area, you have to tour this great Hotel and stay for a night of fun on Thursdays.

Old time pub-bar. Bartender friendly as were the other patrons. Must see if you are in Buffalo Wyoming.

“OLD WEST EXPERIENCE Free self guided tours”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2013

Teddy Roosevelt, Buffalo Bill, Calamity Jane & others visited this historic hotel. We arrived by walking over after visiting the Jim Gatchell museum (about 2 blocks away). A very kind lady greeted us & said we could have a look around. She said we could also go upstairs and look in the rooms that had a rope across the open doorway. People still stay here. That would be a delight the next time we come through.

The grand lobby had antique furniture, an original fire place and wood floors. You will think you have gone back in time 100 years. There were people sitting in the lobby having a relaxing time it seemed. There were mounts on the walls in the lobby and throughout the hotel. I loved the period wall paper. The bar is outstanding and has a beautiful tin ceiling. We were told there are bullet holes in the woodwork and tin ceiling from years ago. You can have a drink or have a meal. Check out the Billiard Room near the bar.

Then we went upstairs to view the open rooms. First you will see a landing that has seating areas. Then we checked out the open rooms. Each one was different, including the wall paper.

Tours are daily 8 to 5. If you are headed to Yellowstone, take time to visit this frontier hotel.
