We have a summer home near this circa 1850's working cattle ranch. This was our first visit in 35 years! We were somewhat skeptical about going, after all it is a "dude ranch". We were very pleased with the authenticity of the ranch as well as the hospitality and local 'charm' of the employees. Reservations for dinner are strongly recommended. There is one seating at 7 pm nightly. The menu has entrees for steak lovers as well as chicken and seafood specials. We enjoyed the "VEE Bar Rib Eye" and the Skirt steak grilled to order. All 4 steaks were tender, juicy and flavorful. The soup(s) (all you wanted) which came with the meal were hearty and delicious. The Brunswick Soup had a smokey, BBQ flavor and the Cream of Mushroom had large, tasty mushrooms in a delicious cream broth. You could have made a meal of either soup. Salad, baked bread, choice of potato and vegetable Du jour were included in the price. A nice selection of home made desserts are available (if you have room). This is a family-oriented business so children are welcome. A 17% tip is included in your bill so additional tipping is not required. We do want to praise our hostess/server, Scarlet, who made the evening even more special with her smile, personality and entree suggestions. Thank you! :) We look forward to returning and bringing our guests to enjoy this piece of western hospitality.
