A friend books rooms in this hotel for Frontier Days. It is on the parade route and has view from access balcony and in the center of town. It is very old (1960 - 1970) and does not appear to have any updates made to it at all. The hotel is owned and run by a family who were friendly but not service oriented or very concerned about problems with the room. Our room was clean but looked more like a converted storage locker with exposed conduit with decorative wall switches that did not control anything. I complained to the daughter that the bathroom door would not close and someone had kicked a hole in it probably out of frustration. She did not appear concerned and another guest mentioned the same problem. The had put in new tile over the old floor at some time in the past and not adjusted the door height so probably none of the bathroom doors will close. The mattress was so cheaper that I felt as if I were sleeping on the springs. The window AC unit over the door ran constantly and would not cycle down. the only way to make any adjustment was on the unit as the wall control did not seem to work. The biggest insult was being charged $191.00 per night when there are much nicer and newer hotels available for less money but not in the center of town. Unless you have no choice I would not recommend this hotel.
