“Okay hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 October 2007

This was an okay hotel. No real problems. We thought it to be a little pricey at $85.00 for a double smoking room on a Monday night in October, but it was clean and comfortable. Our shower was awesome-worked well. This hotel does not include breakfast so again, for the price, I thought that was unusual. If you eat breakfast in the restuarant downstairs, know that you can order things that are not on the menu for a decent price (2 eggs and toast for $3.50). Buffalo Bill Villiage was all closed when we were there as well, so again, why such a high price? One washer for this big place was a little much too. Would stay here again if no other smoking rooms available.

After staying in the Pioneer Cabins in Canyon Village in Yellowstone we felt we were staying in a palace! We had a pool and a TV after not having one for a week! (we had been staying in various places in the National Parks)

We went to Buffalo Bill Museum. Can take it or leave it. We don't need to go there again, but glad we went. We were there maybe 2-3 hours.

At night we went to the Rodeo. The kids loved it.

We had dinner and breakfast in the Restaurant. VERY< VERY good food and service. We traveled for 16 nights and this was one of the top places we ate.

We did not spend a lot of time at this location. We love seeing 4 wheelers going down mainstreet!

  • Liked — The restaurant, very friendly staff
  • Disliked — washer and dryer doors open back to back - very small washer and dryer room - need more

Its not your normal Holiday Inn standards, but decent. The air conditioning was somewhat loud, and the rooms were somewhat dated. The staff was great, and very helpful, the pool was also great. Cody was a nice little town, but the food selection was slim, unless you are a fast food junkie. There is a place called Bubas Barbeque, which was wonderful, but you can only eat at Bubas so many times. Overall it was a decent place, and prob. the best place to stay in Cody. Updates would really raise the review of this Holiday Inn, considering they already have a excellent staff................

My family and I stayed here on our way to Yellowstone and altough the rooms were nice we had some problems with the hotel resturant, we got there and waited 15 min for our waiter to bring us water and then another 10 to take our order, once we got our food it was excellent. When we went to check out they would not give us a recipet or tell us how much we were paying for our rooms, My mom and I found it a little odd that they would not give us that information.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Cody for one night during a bus tour of "Cowboy Country." Had a delicious buffalo prime rib dinner in the Bandana Room with the group hosted by a Buffalo Bill look-a-like. The hotel is located at the other end of town from the Cody Museum as well as the rodeo grounds (about a mile from the museum). It's part of a complex that includes several hotels.

When I needed to go to the Emergency Room at 4am, the front desk contacted the night porter and he both drove me in the hotel's van and picked me up when released (less than an hour later)! Once the pharmacy opened at 9am, they again drove me in the hotel van and waited for me, getting me back by 9:30 when the tour bus was scheduled to leave.

Although it's a middle of the road hotel, the staff went over and above to ensure I was taken care of!

WARNING! A very cute stuffed buffalo was in the room waiting for my 8yo daughter to sleep with. Of course, we had to make a trip to the interesting gift shop (on the "boardwalk") to purchase one of his cousins ($20) while a wine and cheese reception for hotel guests was ongoing! Caveat...it WAS the cutest buffalo we had seen in our travels!

Hotel is mostly comfortable.
High Speed Internet is very good.
Beds are nice.
The rooms are mostly quiet although the noise from people in the hallways can be loud at times.
Cable TV is pretty basic, not many choices.
Hot water is not reliable. Both nights the shower would go back and forth between extreme hot to ice cold...it was irritating.
There isn't a continential breakfast, only an overpriced hotel restaurant.
It is on the main street in town, so getting places is convenient.
Seems kind of expensive, but it is a tourist town in the busy time, so it is partially understandable.
