This was our second year at the 7D ranch. We could not image that the second time could be better than our perfect first year, but it was. We came for a family reunion, a group of 13 ranging in age from 5 to 78. Andrea and Meade all all the staff really do everything they can to make the stay as fun and comfortable as possible. We loved the rides in the spectactular Sunlight Basin. We had amazing views on every ride. The horses were great, even for us novice riders. So many fun activites for everyone: hiking with the staff, trap shooting, fishing, activities for kids every night too. With the two 5 year olds, the staff were very helpful in babysitting them so the adults and older kids could go on rides. They loved everyone who watched them and were able to get lead rides on the ponies too. The food was great. Hearty but healthy and fresh. Many options at everymeal too. We all agreed that we can't wait for our 3rd trip to the 7D.

Room Tip: The cabins are comfortable, and cozy. Ours had a skylight over the bed.

This was our first dude ranch experience. The 7D is, quite simply, fabulous. The cabiins are very comfortable, cozy and, most importantly, clean. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, and there is no reasonable request that isn't met with a smile and a friendly "Absolutely!" Our children (14 and 11) loved every minute of this experience. Apart from the many different trail rides offering spectacular views of the Sunlight Basin, there are beautiful hikes, great fishing and fun evening activities. Corral Boss Jeff gives an amazing horse training demonstration; Meade and Tom showed us how to shoe a horse; the Wikki-up (Indian sweat lodge followed by river dip) was crazy fun, and the Saturday night cowboy singer was wonderful. And, let's not forget the food! No weenies & beanies here. Chicken Marsala, Baked Cod with gnocchi, Boeuf Bourgignon, etc. But most important, the warmth of the welcome and the graciousness of 7D managers Meade and Andrea Dominick make this one special, magical place. You simply can't go wrong.

This was our first visit to 7D and it was excellent. The staff is top notch! I reasearched ranches in Wyoming for several months prior to deciding on the 7D. We arrived late on Sunday and were promptly greeted by 4 staff members who helped us to unload our car and answer any questions we had. Monday morning we had breakfast and riders were matched to their horses. Riding was offered everyday, except Thursday when it is horses rest day. The views in the Sunlight Basin are amazing! There are no better views and we drove all over Wyoming on this trip! I also went fly fishing for the first time after the casting clinic. We have two children (9 and 10) who were in very capable hands with the children's wranglers. They rode, explored caves, played in the streams, made tie dye and had boat races in the stream on the ranch. My children made new friends and loved the ranch they are ready to go back. A staff member also drove us to the Cody Night Rodeo in Cody! It was fun! The food was spectacular. Many ranches tout gourmet food, there is no better food than on the 7D. Everything was delicious! I highly recommend the 7D. My only fear is that everyone will go and there won't be room for me next year.... I had no problems getting onto the wireless in the main lodge. But leave the computer at home and get back to good family fun at 7D!

Room Tip: Cabins are available dependent on the number of guests. Talk to the staff for help.

We fell in love with the 7D Ranch in the 80's when our children were 6 and 14. This year, our sixth visit, our children and their children ages 15 months to 9 years were with us for another fantastic week. The location is beyond spectacular. Every trail ride serves up gorgeous vistas. The Absorka Wilderness beckons us back time after time, and its remote and private nature is truly restorative. The ranch seems timeless, with all the good stuff just as we remembered it, and none of the distractions of our hectic lives at home.. Children adore the freedom and bond with the animals and each other in a totally "unplugged" environment. The family style meals are hearty and ready to be relished as soon as guests take a seat -- a wonderful bonus for young kids who love getting their meals promptly so they can get back to play. The cabins are just the right amount of rustic: comfy and atmospheric. The accomodating staff brings liveliness to all the activities -- the trail rides, the kids program, campfires, fly fishing, country dancing, hiking, trips to the Cody Rodeo, trap shooting and more.
Kudos to 7D family management and staff for creating the perfect ranch experience. It has enriched the lives of our family for 3 decades.

We have been to the 7d ranch 6 times over the last 24 years....what is so amazing is that it hasn't changed a bit. The Dominick family is so welcoming, the Sunlight basin is one of the most gorgeous places on the planet, the horses and rides are spectacular, the cabins are so quaint and timeless but with nice updates in the bathrooms, the family style meals and great cooking really make you feel like you are on vacation but with the comforts of home. Every day you get to choose your own adventure...a ride, a hike, skeet shooting, fly fishing, or staying behind for R and R reading in a hammock... Kids are in absolute paradise here. My 16 month old couldn't have been happier running around in the wide open spaces and visiting the cows, pigs, chickens, goats and horses. The babysitters took great care of her during the rides. For the older kids 5 and up its like going to camp but still having your family around and getting to do great family bonding - whether it is smores by the campfire, a rollicking game of capture the flag kickball, or dancing the night away at the square dance. The staff is welcoming, warm, knowledgeable and fun and made our week so memorable. The were great about accomodating our toddler. IWhat an amazing way for kids and adults alike to unplug for a week and make memories.

The people at the 7D are so welcoming; you feel like you've been there forever when it's only been a few days. They are very accommodating and knowledgeable and very personable. I've wanted to visit a dude ranch for years and they exceeded my expectations. The cabins are really comfortable, particularly the beds. I slept well every single night. The location of course is awesome; you are surrounded by the most gorgeous mountains. The guests get along really well; the atmosphere is much like a big family. The only complaint I have was that I was so tired because we played so hard every day:) This trip was amazing; I wish i could take my friends and family out there because nothing compares to experiencing it yourself!

This is our third time staying at the 7D Ranch. It just keeps getting better each time. Our childeren are ages 6, 9 and 12. They look forward to this vacation every year and so do we. You are treated like family and the staff is warm and welcoming. It is a quaint atmosphere and they are very accomodating to your needs. The children always have something fun to do. The views from the ranch are breathtaking. This ranch is a treasure to our family. We are very fortunate to have found such a unique and wonderful place to vacation each year.
