This is a good place to stop & shop & also visit the facilities before entering the park. It also has horse back riding & a good little resturant.

Thank Pam E

Lots of curios and touristy stuff to buy. Very crowded shelves and narrow places to walk. Interesting turquoise jewellry on display. Locally produced stuff is interesting.

Located two miles from the East entrance to Yellowstone National Park (50 miles from Cody, WY), is Pahaska Tepee, Buffalo Bill's spectacular historic lodge. Nestled amongst the pines at the foot of majestic Cody Peak, the cabin is a glorious sight. The grand opening was announced on July 5, 1904 in the Cody newspaper. Buffalo Bill lead a large hunting party for a ten-day hunt in November 1904 and construction was completed in 1905; the lodge was then opened for guests. The main structure is a two-story log building measuring 83.5 feet by 60 feet. The main level is surrounded by porches. The main entrance has a hall that extends to the roof, with a stone fireplace at the opposite end. The dining room is behind the fireplace. A small suite of rooms over the east porch was used by Buffalo Bill. There are an additional six bedrooms and two baths on this level and seven more rooms downstairs., Today, it operates as a mountain resort and the original hunting lodge is open for tours.
