I really did not want to go to another pioneer museum, as we have seen so many, but it was something to do. What a pleasant surprise! Museum is very extensive and covers many aspects of Wyoming history in a clear, well organized manor. It was much bigger than we thought and we could have allotted more time. Very clean and neat. the gun collection is great. It covered everything from the range wars to period dress from the early 1900's to the fifties, some of the Spanish American war, the POW camp here in town from WWII, along with a lot of artwork by the POWs. Many local artists display, antique toys, appliances of all genres, way too many catagories to mention. We were very impressed. Free admition, great family place.

I thought we would be in and out, but two hours felt like we rushing it a bit. This museum was an interesting contrast to the Buffalo Bill Museum up in Cody a few day ago. The Cody is extremely well funded, excellent and super slick, this one is home made and a bit funky and chock full of every imaginable gun, dish, appliance, dress, tool, ect, ect.
Just leave enough time and bring a sweater, I would have stayed longer but I got a little chilled.
