“What a nice, out-of-the-noise surprise!”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

My husband and I (we are 67 and 86 yrs) were just rambling through western Wyoming for a couple of weeks. (We live in Littleton, Colorado) We are so glad we booked the Longhorn for 3 nights because the little town of Dubois ("DEW-boyz"), only a couple of miles west, is delightful - nice people, decent prices, some great food and the drives off the highway in the Wind River Valley are spectacular. I would concur with ALL the remarks below about the Longhorn being impressively clean and quiet, with management that is sincerely interested in you being comfortable at their place. Apparently, June 24-27 is still shoulder season in Wyoming! I would go back to Dubois and the Longhorn in a heartbeat. Their GORGEOUS RV sites in the back of the property made me wish we hadn't just sold our motorhome. Be sure to visit the Bighorn Sheep museum in town and take the easy "Scenic Drive" loop (the entrance sign is a little obscure: it sits on the north side of the highway, just barely on the west end of town). Enjoy this one!

Room Tip: One row of the motel rooms may be newer than the other? Any would be good, I believe.

This place was amazing. We only had time to stay one night. I was considering changing my entire vacation plan to get a couple of nights here. We stayed in the lodge. The room was immaculate. We walked along the river. The entire place was pristine. I was looking at various chain motels and stumbled on the Longhorn Ranch. I couldn't be happier.

Room Tip: We stayed in room #29. I doubt that you could get a bad room in either building of this lodge.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location on the river is incredible. The rooms were very clean, and we are pretty picky about that. The rate included breakfast, which we really appreciated. The owners work very hard at what they do and you can tell. Anthony, of Hotel Impossible would find nothing wrong, were he ever to drop by.

We stayed in the motel part of this property and it was great! We were there "off season" so it was very quite. It had everything we needed; pet friendly, laundry room, snacks, helpful staff and the views were amazing. Even having the RV park behind you it's quite. Right on the river makes a nice setting for a place to stay. The staff were all very nice and friendly. They have kennels for your pup and will check in on them (be sure they have water and not in distress, not to walk them) thru the day while your gone. The rooms were very clean and kept up. The shower was a tad small. The location is right on the edge of town so you can get to shops/food pretty easy. It is about 45 min's from Yellowstone, so expect to be out all day if your visiting the park. The breakfast that is included for the motel is just cereal, toast so don't expect anything too fancy. We really enjoyed this property and would come back for sure!

Room Tip: We had to stay in a pet friendly room but they had us on the end so it was nice and quite.

My husband and I were traveling back and forth across the US. We'd stayed at 11 different hotels in as many days. When we got here, we were in heaven. The room was spacious. Clean. Well appointed. There were even chocolates on the pillow, who does that anymore? The beds and pillows were firm and comfortable. The continental breakfast the next morning had everything we could want. The manager, Sue, was extremely helpful in suggesting places to have dinner in town. But the best part? The grounds were breathtaking. Though we were only a couple miles from town, it felt like we were in well away from the crowds and noise of the highway. In fact, we were grateful we did not choose any of the places that were listed as right in town -- they didn't seem nearly as nice, spacious or quiet.

Our family of four (who usually camp overnight in a travel trailer, but didn't want to haul it all the way out to Yellowstone) stayed one night in this gorgeous, breathtaking property. We stayed in a room with two queen sized beds, and it was cute, comfortable, and clean! The included breakfast was very nice, and we enjoyed eating it on the deck overlooking the mountains. As campers, we walked around the RV portion of the property and were extremely impressed. The sites were very spacious and absolutely beautiful. The staff was courteous, informative, and friendly. We are very picky about places that we stay (which is why we like to stay in our own travel trailer) and this place did not disappoint. We highly recommend Longhorn Resort!!
