Above average for the price. For a town of 1,000 Dubois is loaded with places to stay in two categories. Motels and little log cabins. This is the cheapest of the log cabin groups, and at less than 40$ for two, a twin bed, tv, phone, and a pet, it is a good deal. Motels are kind of high priced for this middle of nowhere place. Nothing special or fancy, if you stayed at grandmas old house, you have stayed here. No breakfast but free ice across the street at gas station. Good place to stay for summer travelers on tight budget between say Denver and Yellowstone or Northwest.
They take horses too. Your in Wyoming after all! Good eats are all downtown, avoid the edge of town eats near Motel 8. Eat early the few eateries are crowded on evenings and weekends.
About two or three hours from Yellowstone and Jackson Hole area but a beautiful drive depending on weather. Winter pass nearby might limit access at that time of year.
