Twin Pines Lodge And Cabins

We had the pleasure of staying at the Twin Pines on our recent trip to Wyoming. Dubois was the perfect base for our excursions to Jackson, Thermopolis, and nearby Three Lakes area. It was clean, well-appointed, and comfortable-the perfect style as a backdrop to our western mountain experience. There was a suite available above the main lodge, but we chose a cabin, which had a mini-fridge, electric pot for heating hot water for tea or coffee (also provided), a very useful desk and wi-fi access. The room was tidied each day while we were out, and we never had to ask the staff for towels or anything.
The main lodge was beautiful and sunny; a very adequate continental breakfast was provided each morning, and everything in town was within walking distance. Our stay was quiet and restful; we definitely knew we'd picked the perfect place to stay on our trip, and if we are in Dubois again, we will stay there again. It's a beautiful hotel and area. Don't forget to add something to the guest book-a really nice touch!

I had to travel to Dubois for work in the off-season. Though the back of the hotel where the cottages looked a bit dubious (seemed like there were people living in the back in the off-season?), the main lodge, where we stayed, was really great. It's totally clean and cozy, and there's a great continental breakfast. It was a great value, the rooms were clean, the towels were big and soft. There was a even a jacuzzi bathtub, which I definitely didn't expect. If you're spending time in Dubois, I think this is a great value.

We chose this place as an alternative to expensive Jackson and it was really a good choice. Except for the road construction between Dubois and the National Parks, the drive is beautiful and easy to do. We spent our days in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons and then enjoyed a quiet, relaxing, affortable evening in Dubois.
The cabins are ideal for a couple...we stayed in one of the original ones. It had 2 comfortable, clean beds, and nicely appointed bathroom....love the towels!! There was also a refrig., tv, electric kettle for that hot chocolate, tea or coffee....so everthing you needed. The heat came from an easy to use electric stove so you just flip and switch !! The nice little front porch was a fun place to sit during the evening.
Breakfast is the usual continental, but with real plates and silverware!! There is a limited space to eat and I am sure the people staying in the lodge itself can hear the breakfast noise. One reason to get a cabin!
Dubois is a cute little town with several good places to eat so spend some time in the town itself.

No a/c, DVD didn't work, front desk seemed unprofessional, breakfast late and I paid over $100 for the night.
After my trip, I contacted the hotel for a $20 discount because of some of these issues and the response was quite unprofessional. Sorry about that because the place has potential.

After a long drive from Yellowstone, then through the Grand Teton National Park (including a boat ride on Jenny Lake and a hike to Hidden Falls) then to Jackson for a meal, it was good to finally reach Dubois, our destination for the night. Dubois is a small town and we did not know what to expect. We had to park on the street but were pleasantly surprised when we walked into the Twin Pines Lodge.

The lobby/breakfast area was nice and check in was done from a small room in the back of the hotel. Check in was fast and done by the owner who was polite and friendly. The entire hotel had a nice rustic them going on throughout.

The building is old but well maintained. We asked for a room in the lodge (they have cabins as well) and were pleasantly surprised when we entered our room. It was on the second floor, was well furnished and spacious. The room and bathroom were clean. There was a refrigerator in the room and a tv with a satellite feed. The linen felt clean, the bathroom well stocked with toiletries, and the beds were comfortable.

There was a computer w/internet access in the lobby area which was nice to have.

Breakfast was minimal with fresh fruit, raisin bread, juice, yogurt, and a few other items.

This being an old (possibly historic) building, the walls are paper thin. When using the computer in the lobby I could hear people talking very clearly, even though their room doors were shut. So if you are looking for privacy, you may want to consider opting to stay in the cabins instead (although I do not have any idea of what they are like on the inside).

Considering its location, the Twin Pines lodge is like a welcome oasis in the middle of nowhere. So if we were ever in this part of the country again, and needed to break journey for the night, this is definitely where we would stay again.

We stayed here last year while driving through to Yellowstone and we were pleasantly surprised. The town seems to be built entirely on the tourism that the national parks bring, but is quaint in its own right.
The cabin that we stayed in was very spacious and looked like it had just been remodeled. The bed was very comfortable and a continental-style breakfast was included in the low cost rate. The cabin we stayed in was two in from the street. We had our windows open all night and we had no problem with traffic noise.
