“Great for large families, but needs some TLC. Not good for handicapped.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 September 2010

We stayed at the JH Lodge for 1 night, before proceeding to Yellowstone. When making the reservation, we advised the hotel, that one of us has access problems, and to please provide a room accessible without stairs. We repeated our request when we replied to our reservation confirmation. The room rate was $269 + tax. Upon arrival, we were given a room on the second floor (no elevator), and nothing else was available. Worse, once in the room, the bedrooms were up another flight of stairs. It is obvious, these folks are more interested in collecting the room rate than they are in accommodating special needs. The suite was large, with a kitchen, a fireplace, two upstarirs bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths. The furnishings with adequate, and the room was clean. But, there were lots of little things wrong. There was a balcony, and the safety chain lock for the door was broken. Upstairs, almost every lamp had a knob for a switch, and almost every lamp switch did not work well. Turning lights on or off was always difficult. (This may also be a fire hazard.) On both upstairs bathrooms, the faucet handles on both sinks were loose.. One was so loose, it was almost impossible to adjust water temperature. There was a lot of noise outside, and when we tried to close the windows to reduce the noise, the cranks on the windows did not work. One of the bedooms had a beautiful HD TV, but the picture was awful and snowy. 14-day cancellation is a bit over the top, too. Given the price, we were disappointed, especially in the hotel's lack of interest in our accessibility problems. The other things could probably be overlooked, since it is the end of the season.

We rolled into Jackson planning to camp, but started to look for a room when we checked the updated weather forecast. The JHL reader board advertised rooms for $100, but their least expensive was actually $130. The room was small and the toilet paper roll in the bathroom doubled as an arm rest. There was no place to hang clothes and barely any room to lay out luggage. The walls are paper thin. The wireless was inconsistent. The room decor was goofy and inconsistent. There was a significant gap between the bottom of the door and the frame. It's an old place with amateur workmanship on the updates.

Everything is old, painted over several times, but the TV-Air Conditioner, and the shower all work. Shower is small but functional. The beds were ok. When all other hotels in the are are $ 300, this one for $ 100+ is a good value.

The room was so small it was impossible to relax. You could not sleep as the paper-thin walls revealed everyone's activity in adjacent rooms. It was a miserable one-nite experience that I hope others can avoid.

I found this lodge by researching on Trip Advisor and it was a great find. We were looking for a hotel room at the last minute in Jackson and after reading the reviews I decided to give it a try. The JHL has recently been remodeled and our room (an upgrade) was spectacular. A two bedroom condo style with full kitchen, laundry and living room. My kids were thrilled as was my husband. It is a great "walk to everything" location. I would stay here again and again.

TENSLEEP B 4 condo was the best we have had in our 12 years of visiting Teton Village. The Condo was truely no-smoking, yes I think they should of had one extra cookie sheet; yet most of us are their on vacation. Super Comfortable, and loved their drop leaf table that went from a square to a table that seats 6; we had a party and it was nice that everyone was able to sit at the dinner table, with the two etc chairs the owners provided. Great Times

We were there two nights and swam both times. The two queen room was very compact with dim lighting and too small a bathroom. There was no room to stand and close the door for privacy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lots of placed for dining near by. A short walk to downtown and fun shopping abounds. South a mile is a wonderful grocery store.
They have very nice modern rooms for $265 a night our compact room was around $100.
