Located very close to the historic town square, the Lexington Trapper Inn & Suites provides all the amenities a seasoned traveler expects; transportation from the airport, well apportioned rooms, free breakfast buffet, and a beautiful setting with well manicured grounds with comfortable seating for viewing the surrounding mountains and buttes. A separate street-side building house the pool and spa where you observe both the mountains and pedestrian traffic. From it's historic beginning, it has been transformed into a modern hotel, albeit with motel features as are all the other lodgings in this historic western town.

Room Tip: Most rooms are located in 2-story motel-style buildings, but a limited number accessible by elevator...

We were looking for a Hotel late one evening and we tried all the usual brand names and they were all full so panic set in as it was almost 23:00 and thoughts of sleeping in the car, we then saw this Hotel and thought let's give it a go and they saved the day, there was a very warm welcome and the girl in the Lobby who I think was called Pati gave us a great rate considering we were late arrivals which was very impressive as most brand Hotels want to charge you a full rate even if you turn up very late, we were given a wonderful suite as well, it was a very homely hotel and we loved it and made us think that in future we should give more hotels like this a go and support the local community, well done Lex you did a great job

The Lexington is a perfect facility for families enjoying Jackson Hole and Grand Tetons. Our family walked to town for dinner and shopping each evening. Our 1 BR kitchen suite was not spacious but was certainly adequate. Kids enjoyed indoor pool and hot tub. We all enjoyed breakfast. Our suite was in main building, very convenient to everything. Beds very comfortable. Lexington is rustic on the outside, reflecting J Hole charm; attractive lobby with afternoon coffee, lemonade, and cookies; attentive service by staff.

Room Tip: Main building rooms most convenient to breakfast, pool.

Let's start by setting expectations straight-- this is a roadside motel, it is not a "Hotel" and the room we were in was definitely not a "suite." Don't let the pictures on the Lexington website fool you, they are designed to disguise the fact that it is a "motel."

The location is good, just a couple of blocks off the main square and easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. However, this comes with the price of some rooms, like ours, being on the Truck route around town. Heavy truck traffic out the window starting at about 6AM and mostly wrapping up around 10PM. If you wake early and stay out late, then this might not be a problem for you.

We thought to stay off the road by reserving a courtyard room. However, upon arrival we were told the building we reserved was closed for maintenance, and we were being "Upgraded" to a "King Suite." It turned out that we were given a handicapped room on the 3rd floor right across from the elevator instead of a courtyard room. The living area of the room was tiny, not even enough room for a comfortable chair (2 wood desk chars were all they gave us.) It was musty because the handicapped shower leaked if used by a non-wheelchair bound user. There was a huge empty hallway and lots of room to maneuver a wheel chair in the bathroom-- which we didn't need. This was provided at the expense of a livable room. We spent the week crashing into each other as we navigated around the bed. It's not my style to ask for good service, and we didn't complain. However, a more attentive staff would not have put us in this room in the first place (the hotel was NOT full), and any managerial check of the room during our stay would have revealed the musty room. It should have been proactively corrected-- I shouldn't have had to ask.

Then, to add insult to injury on check-out day, we took some of our belongings to the car and went to breakfast. We left the do not disturb sign on the door to notify housekeeping that the room should remain untouched. We returned well before checkout time to find a maid in our room, and our remaining belongings in a pile in the corner. I was highly dismayed, of course.

All of this was reported to the management when we left, and I did get a call from the hotel manager to apologize. And, the manager indicated that they would have changed the room had I complained. Again-- fair service gives you a good room when you make a fuss, great service doesn't put you in a cramped handicapped room across from the elevator when better rooms are available. The manager did offer a free room if we returned. However, when you get poor service the last thing you want is to return to the same place even if the room is free-- you still need to take vacation time and pay to get there (and we really have no plans to return to Jackson anyway-- even had the motel experience been better).

There are lots of great reviews on TripAdvisor for this place, and perhaps they all got lucky or were actually provided with the room they reserved. But based on our experience and the misleading "Hotel and Suites" description, I would caution others that they might not end up getting what they think they are reserving. And, if you do have a problem I guess you need to complain loudly as no one will lift a finger to identify and fix problems if you don't.

Room Tip: Make sure to ask for a room that doesn't back to the street and is not close to the elevator, an...

One of our goals at The Lexington at Jackson Hole is to provide all of our guests with a comfortable and relaxing stay. We try to anticipate issues that may cause our guests to have less than a great stay. Although I believe the service team here does an outstanding job at this most of the time……we do make mistakes. Unfortunately that appears to have happened in this situation and for this I apologize.

If we miss something and our guest is having any issues with their stay, we can almost always correct the problem immediately. Once a concern is pointed out and we have the opportunity to correct it, we do.

The Lexington at Jackson Hole has earned the Lexington Collection's top honor in guest service…The LEXCELLENCE AWARD, for the last 2 consecutive years. And in May of 2012, The Lexington at Jackson Hole was awarded the TripAdvisor 2012 Certificate of Excellence award; one of TripAdvisors top guest service awards.

We have a history of great service, as evidenced by our frequent positive guest reviews….but we do make mistakes. I hope you will give us another opportunity to demonstrate the type of quality guest service that is the norm here at The Lexington at Jackson Hole.

Frank Lane

This hotel was fabulous. Our room was newly decorated and the bed ... it was like sleeping on a cloud. A great selection of pillows too! I had read reviews on tripadvisor and was a bit concerned that we didn't have accommodation in the main building but our room was great and if given the choice I would choose it over the main building. We were in the buildings directly opposite the main entrance door.

Our room was very quiet and had a wonderful little gadget on the desk with multiple powerpoints. How often do you find yourself crawling around the floor looking for a powerpoint? Not at The Lexington. We found it particularly useful with the amount of electrical items needing recharging each night. The vanity and sink outside the bathrooom was also particularly handy.

We found all the staff very friendly and extremely helpful but would like to make a particular mention of the very lovely breakfast lady. The fresh fruit was a real bonus of the complimentary breakfast.

The hotel is in a wonderful position and I would recommend it to anyone travelling to Jackson Hole.

Thank you for such a wonderful review of the Lexington at Jackson Hole. The staff works hard to ensure that all guests experience Jackson Hole at its finest - and I am glad that we were able to exceed your expectations. The multi-port power station has been a big hit in our newly remodeled courtyard rooms - with so many photos taken of the inspiring Teton peaks and the vast Yellowstone Park - recharging both yourself and your electronics is an important part of any vacation! I will relay your comments to Carol our breakfast host.
Thanks again and we look forward to your next visit to the Lexington at Jackson Hole Hotel & Suites.

My first feeling about a motel (parking outside your room, outdoor entrances, etc) is not always a positive one but I've come to find that Motels are the norm throughout Jackson Hole and my preconceived notions were unfounded. I'm a hotel snob as I travel alot on business. This is an awesome motel. Updated bedding, huge room, great bathroom, outstanding breakfast option and willing to negotiate if you are willing to spend a few days with them. The only negative is a small indoor pool but aside from that, I would definitely stay here again. The hotel is about 3 blocks from the downtown square and an easy walk to get to restaurants and shopping. Plus, it is on the north side of town so you can get going easily in the morning. We stopped at Albertsons when we arrived in town to load up on a 12 day tour and the selection there was amazing too. As for Jackson and the conception that it is expensive, after traveling through Jackson, West Yellowstone, Gardiner and Cody, this was to best value I found the entire trip.

I was very impressed with the renovations. It's in a great location and accessible to all of the downtown square restaurants and shopping. The breakfast was exceptionally nice and plentiful. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and helpful. The pool was a bit small, but the hot tub was comfortable.
