If you ever wanted to get close to elk this is your chance. Fun sleigh ride among 100's of elk. Don't forget to check out the National Museum of Wildlife Art while your at it.

Riding among the herds of Elk on the horse drawn wagon is a wonderful experience - the elk accept the wagon as a non-threatening friend bringing food! The magnificent bulls and young bucks joust away in grand fashion oblivious of their visitors!
Thousands of elk on this beautiful range is a breathtaking experience not to be missed.

Most people do not realize that the Elk are not on the Refuge in the summer. Only in the winter do the elk come to the refuge. They are gone by April. There are no cars allowed on the refuge but the road going behind the refuge is open. Lots to see back there too, Bison, Elk, Big Horn Sheep, Coyote. and more. The sleigh ride on the Refuge is a must do from December till mid April usually. The ride gets you fairly close to the bull elk with the huge antlers. If the Teton mountain range is showing it makes it more spectacular. Don't be afraid to visit Jackson in the winter. Low humidity makes the cold very comfortable.

Took the family on this horse drawn giant sleigh ride into the middle of a very large herd of elk. They came right up to us and it was fascinating seeing them so close. First they are huge animals and watching them eat, fight & play was a real treat

Not a shopper and a lover of the outdoors I drive out into the refuge not expecting the beauty. There were buffalo and antelope galore. The Tetons serve as an awesome backdrop. So if you won't to enjoy the solitude and are like me not a shopper check it out.
