“Lots of wildlife!”
Reviewed 8 May 2014

Plenty of great wildlife to see right from your car. Beautiful views of the Tetons. And its free! We saw buffalo, elk, moose, prairie dogs and lots of eagles.

“Wow!”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

My husband and I were in Jackson to ski but we took a day off to rest and decided to do this. It was sooo cool! You go to the visitors center to purchase tickets which are $18pp. From there a bus will take you over to the refugee. Our bus driver was very friendly and informative. Once at the refugee, you load into a sleigh, cover up with a nice warm blanket and ride out to the open land where the elk are. It's a great ride out and back and the driver spouts all sorts of information the whole time. We were able to get pretty close to the elk and we got lots of neat pictures. Just make sure to dress appropriately because it can get pretty cold out in the valley.

“Free scenic drive in warmth of car”
Reviewed 20 April 2014

In addition to going on a sleigh ride, you can drive into the refuge and see the elk from the comfort of your vehicle. Entry is free. The entrance is located on at the end of East Broadway (on the left). The unpaved road is winding with numerous lookout spots. We also saw a number of people walking their dogs and going for a walk.

“Sleigh Rides through Elk Herds”
Reviewed 9 April 2014

It doesn't get any better than that when you can ride a sleigh that goes right through thousands of elk on the refuge. If you have never seen a bull elk up close, then here is your opportunity. What a great experience for all ages.

“Fun!”

Fun to do this if you never have. They get you up close to the elk in a horse drawn sled. Good time!
