“I cannot stay away !!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2014

I just now finished my eighth trip with the Houston Zoo and the Teton Science School Expedition guides (Paul Brown and Sean Beckett). I cannot say enough about these guides, the Teton Science School that they are associated with, our zoo host, Renee Bumpus..... not to mention the gorgeous ecosystem of Jackson Hole and Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Every trip is unique. It is getting harder and harder for me to return home. The only thing that keeps me going is I know I have a follow-up trip in the Fall ! Can't wait ! On each trip the guides have spotted animals that the average traveler would not even have seen. They both have eyes of eagles ! And their extensive knowledge of the parks as well as its history goes further to enhance ones experience.

“Best Trip Ever!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2014

I wanted to give my sister the trip of a lifetime and because of our guide, Erik Nelson at Wildlife Expeditions, it happened. We would not have seen anything if not for our guide. Erik was amazing...he could spot any animal, set up scopes, and ignite the excitement in all of us with what we were seeing. His knowledge and energy was wonderful. We saw a grizzly with her 2 cubs, a charging bison (OMG), wolves, lots of babies, a cinnamon black bear, antelope, elk, moose, big horn sheep with a baby on a ledge, coyote, fox, and on and on. We went on the 3 day trip, with 2 nights in Cooke City, Montana, and it was amazing. Erik made sure we were all fed throughout the entire trip...I've never been so full. We ate at restaurants in the park a few times, but the best meals were the ones he laid out for us at the park picnic tables. He made sure everyone had whatever they needed. I can't say enough...best time ever because we had the best quide ever!!!!

“A wonderful day in Grand Teton National Park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014

My wife and I had a fantastic day with Sarah Cayea as our guide in the Grand Teton National Park. Our aim was to see the wonderful animals and birds that live there and we weren't disappointed! Sarah was extremely informative and knowledgeable about all aspects of the Park and like magic took us from one species to the next. We saw Black Bear, Grizzly Bear, Moose, elk, Pronghorn, Bison etc. as well as many interesting species of bird including Sandhill Crane and Wedge-tailed Hummingbird. This day was the highlight of our 3 week holiday to the USA and we owe a huge debt of gratitude to our guide, Sarah, as without her help and guidance we would have seen very little; so, thankyou Sarah! To sum up, we really recommend the tours run by Teton Science Schools.....they are the best!

“The Best of my Bucket List, Yellowstone Park!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

My husband and I were in Yellowstone last week on a trip sponsored by the Houston Zoo and guided by the Teton Science School. OMG, this was the most fun three days that I have had in a long time! My husband, who came along only because I asked him to, had just as much fun as I did, to his surprise. (He generally prefers golf and fishing trips, but loved this one.) We have already talked about when we will do it again. Possibly the most important factor of the trip was having our two very knowledgeable guides, Paul and Sean. Everyone can drive the park and see bison. Some people get lucky and stop at "bear jams" and get a glimpse of a bear. I counted and in one day we saw 15 bears, some from a distance that we could have never seen without the guides' awesome scopes, and some from up close near the road. The park is huge. When the guides hear on the radio that there are good sightings, they can get you there. And then they can explain the behavior that you are seeing, and tell you about the history of that animal in the park. You aren't checking just it off of a list of "animals seen". You are learning and experiencing the park in a way that it is difficult to do for a visitor on his own. In those three days we also saw wolves, moose, fox, bison, bighorned sheep, pronghorn antelope, a mountain goat (that only a clairvoyant or an experienced guide would ever see on a cliff!), coyotes, eagles, falcons, hawks, and owls, along with all kinds of smaller birds and animals. It was a bonus to have guides that could recognize the birds by their calls and point them out to us. That was not in my expectations at all. All in all, my suggestion to you is to figure out how many days you can manage it, and then book a guide to take you into the park. We did three days, and would have liked one or two more, but even one day with a guide can open your eyes to the magic of Yellowstone.

Its hard to compete with a great day of golf and fishing but simply nothing compares to a couple of days in the field with Paul and Sean. We are so proud of the partnership between the Houston Zoo Conservation Program and Teton Science Schools. We are proud to be making a difference in wildlife conservation and each Houston Zoo traveler helps us achieve this goal. Thank you for your generous praise and we look forward to seeing you again.
