I am a Jackson Hole local; as such, I have eaten at all the best restaurants and gone to many spas and hotels in the valley. I will tell you, beyond a doubt, this hotel will treat you as though you are the most important person to enter their lobby. The hotel itself is quant--i.e. small--but beautiful and just as you would expect a Jackson hotel to look. Granted, the location isn't prime if you want to see the Tetons out your window, but it's in the middle of the town, which is a great location if you want to be neat the shops and restaurants. Not that you'll want to eat anywhere else. The meals here are nothing short of perfect, and the service is amazing. We came to the Wild Sage tonight for dinner and they rolled out the red carpet, building us a personal menu and setting us up in a private room as they had a party who had bought out the dining room for an occasion. How special that was! I owe Tyler a debt of gratitude for the special accommodations they made for me--at no extra cost--I believe because they truly wanted to make tonight special for my wife and me on our anniversary.

So it sounds like I'm biased--but that bias was earned. I have no doubt that they will treat any visitor every bit as well as they treated us.

Btw--we also had a massage together at the hotel spa earlier in the day. Don't pass this opportunity up, either.

We checked in the Rusty Parrot for the first time and were treated as if we were regular VIPs everyday till the last day'. The staff was very attentive to our most mundane needs as if the survival of the planet depended on them, and they were uber-friendly. The quality of the food & service at the Wild Sage can challenge the best anywhere. We have lived 25 years in Maryland and never had such a wonderful, crab-meat tasting, crab-cake as the one we ate at Wild Sage... heavenly! Can't wait to return. Jean & Isabel.

After spending 4 nights over Thanksgiving at The Rusty Parrot, we can highly recommend it to everyone wishing for a friendly, small, centrally located hotel in Jackson. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, making reservations for dinners and game viewings. Their spa is unbelievable and our room was very comfortable. With The Wild Sage Restaurant there with great breakfasts and sumptuous dinners and fresh baked afternoon cookies available, it is a 5 star pick for us! Pamper yourself and stay at the best in Jackson!

Spent 9 nights at the Rusty Parrot this September and had a great time. The hotel has an ideal location, away from the town square yet a short walk away. The rooms are nicely appointed, though don't count on nice views. We booked late, so only the lower level rooms were available, which do look out onto the parking lot. That was the one thing I wish were different, especially for the price.
Service is excellent throughout, and. Both Erik and Beth made our stay very enjoyable, recommending some great activities. The restaurant was the best dining experience in town (and we ate at all the best places on our 9 day stay) and the massage at the spa was divine. Hands down the most intimate, nicest place to stay in Jackson. Will definitely return.

This is a warm and elegant small hotel with personal touches and excellent dining and massage services. A very pleasant second-floor lounge with a fireplace and comfortable chairs complements the seating around the fireplace in the dining room on the first floor. A deck with hot tub off the second-floor lounge provides a great place to sit in good weather. The rooms are variable in size but generally not giant. We had a king with a fireplace and a small but pleasant balcony in the trees. The overall feeling of the decor is warm and Western. Had a great massage at the in-house Body Sage Spa, with a skilled masseur who went out of his way to provide me with maps of running trails and other expedition advice. The food at the Wild Sage is excellent. Breakfast is casual, with the usual offerings (all delicious). Dinner offers a variety of interesting menu options, and we were pleased with all. We walked to several other restaurants easily as well. The Rusty Parrot is at the edge of Jackson's downtown area, within easy walking distance of the town's square and many restaurant and shopping options.

If you haven't been to Jackson you have to set your priorities. An in-town hotel or out at Teton Village. If you like to shop, walk to restaurants and prefer the amenities of a small town, stay in Jackson. If you want to be near the slopes / mountains, stay at the village. Which looks like a Colorado resort without the charm.
It was quickly obvious to my wife and I that the Rusty Parrot was not for every family. Not very big. Average size but very comfortable rooms. No pool or gym, though you can use the gym at the White Buffalo, across the park.
What it has is quiet elegance, personal service and wonderful breakfast and dinner. Yes the servers are adorable.
As for their breakfast. Order whatever is that days special. You won't be disappointed. If you think there's not enough selection you can always stay at one of those hotels where you get your Cheerios from a plastic tub.
No its not cheap. But after six nights there and seeing what else is in town, We were very happy with our choice. Saving $50 a night to stay at a lesser place wouldn't have been worth the savings.
