“Winter Wonderland”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 January 2007

This is a beautiful hotel, off the beaten track unlike the Four Seasons. Everything in the hotel fits it location. The staff are attentive to your every need. The bedrooms are a good size with a remote instant log fire! The view from the balcony along with the snow made it a winter wonderland. In your bathroom you have a large sunken bath with the little added extra's of candles, the large step in shower that could accommodate a large family all at once, all of this has a view like none other! You can shower or bath looking out at the mountains. All of the toiletries are very high quality and beautiful to use. The body lotion and soap are lemon grass and awake your senses. It was only a short trip but would love to go back with my partner and enjoy the full experiance the full package of the outside heated pool and jacuzzi and all the spa facilities. It snowed mostly at night and was a beautiful sight to wake up to each morning. All your trips can be booked with the hotel directly. During my visit I managed to do the Wildlife Tour and got to see the wild Elk and tour the refuge for them, also an Elk Sleigh ride and got to see a bald Eagle, fantastic. And last but by no means least dog sledging, it was ab fab, and exhilarating. The dogs are brilliant and so lovable.

Amangani is an odd place. I think a lot of people would love their stay at Amangani. Please keep in mind; it’s not near the ski resort, like the Four Seasons. On the plus side if you want to ski Snow King and out at Jackson Hole Ski Resort in Teton Village, one would be an equal distance to both mountains. And Amangani is closer to Jackson where you will find a lot of great dining. It's a perfect summer location.

This resort is on a butte with fabulous views. You can hear wildlife and architecture is dark, but interesting. I liked it. The bathrooms were not amazing if you ask me. I like to put on a spot of makeup in the evening before dinner. Good luck! No lighting. Also, sorry if this seems a little disgusting, but some things should not be seen. Um, for instance, the untraditional cool hip toilet makes a person feel like a wild animal in the forest after certain events. Yes, I’m complaining fellow posters… and it’s for good reason. This gave me the creeps and ruined my appetite for breakfast.

The staff honored all of my husband’s requests. He’s the tipper. The staff responded to none of my requests until they figured out I was staying with Mr. Wonderful. When this tid-bit of information was revealed I was greeted with them returning smiles, etc. Interesting.

Amangani is clean, well appointed, and it’s odd but the room service is not all day. If you’re an early riser, good luck with a pot of coffee. Although you can ask for it the night before.

This hotel has old fashioned keys for room security. Maybe I shouldn’t post that on the internet, but Amangani, update the locks, would you?

The restaurant is lovely. The service was good, the food very good. Jackson has so many restaurants. I would imagine there is something to be said for competition. Amangani will set up a private meal for you after meeting with the chef. This was okay.

You’ll receive a small carved wood animal, like on your key chain, when you depart. It’s a nice gesture and made us smile.

All in all we did enjoy our stay. If the few picky points I mentioned don’t bother you, then you will love this resort. Nothing dramatic sticks out in my mind. It would be a great place to be married actually. But that crazy toilet is enough to make me stay elsewhere.

We were recently married in an outdoor ceremony at the Amangani in Jackson Hole. Our wedding and our stay at the Amangani couldn't have been more perfect. The staff were really fantastic and accomodating to our special needs, but at the same time they weren't intrusive.

The views are stunning, the pool exquisite, the wine list extensive and the food top notch. There are only 40 rooms on the property so this is a very quiet place... the staff call it their "peaceful home".

The hotel is equipped with Lexus SUVs to take guests into town or to run errands. Guests can also check out their own Lexus to test drive around the area. As I recommend that folks book dinner in town at the Old Yellowstone Garage, which is probably the best restaurant in town, you can have the Amangani valets drive into town for dinner and pick you up afterwards.

The property is located on the Spring Creek Ranch with easy access to the top-rated Granary restaurant as well as access to one of the best horseback rides you'll find in the area.

There is nothing bad to say at all about the Amangani other than the price tag... it's very expensive but in my opinion it was worth every penny.

My husband and I were married at the Amangani in January. Initially, we too, were somewhat concerned about a few previous comments that we had seen on trip advisor. Luckily for us, we continued to do our research on-line and spoke with several staff members over the phone and via e-mail.

The photos on-line are not at all indicative of the actual beauty of this resort in person. The Amangani is truly breathtaking and the staff outstanding. They were very accommodating, yet non-intrusive and always welcoming. The restaurant food is to die for and there is a plethora of spa services to choose from.

Bottom line, the Amangani is true perfection. If that's what you are looking for, this is the place to stay!

The Amangani very simply creates absolute mountain bliss!!!

The hotel proves itself to be the countries number one mountain retreat…and unbelievably the staff makes it look easy to pull off. My wife and I have staid in many of the Luxury 5 star hotels in ski country including The Little Nell, Sonnenalp, St. Regis, Ritz Carlton etc. This year we set out to create a ski vacation with a twist of calm and Zen we were enticed by the Amangani's promise. Our expectations were blown away.

The Amangani is a sprawling 40-room hotel that defines the word Boutique! Small hotels that call themselves “boutique”, only attempt to achieve the level of service and style that is created here. The level of detail achieved astonished my wife and I. From when you wake up and peak out your suites balconies vast mountain views, to the individualized daily service in every activity offered (skiing, snow shoeing, tours etc) and right through to the serene spa you will not believe that you could feel so relaxed on a mountain and ski holiday that works you out on a daily basis. The only legitimate “criticism” is that the hotel does not have a ski in ski out location…however in my opinion that is very much apart of its appeal given its remote and unique location. This becomes a very easy trade off as it is situated on one of the most breathtaking locations in the states. Moreover, the hotel runs daily shuttles in their private van and or in one of there luxury Lexus SUV’s every 45 minutes. The 15-minute ride drops you off at their concierge room at the base of the gondola where they have your boots, skis and poles ready for take off…and as far as evening dining goes even if you stay in Teton village with a ski in ski out location you will have to travel to Jackson regardless if you want to hit the areas best bars and restaurants. The Amangani sits half way between Teton Village (where Jackson hole mountain is) and the town of Jackson offering easy access to everything you will want and need.

I was astonished to see any negative reviews of this hotel listed and urge you to look beyond them as they really have no merit given our experience. Book it now…you will not be disappointed!!!

The perfect resort is found!!

The service at this property puts it at the top of our list for U.S. hotels. We spent a long weekend here in late July and would return in a heart beat. The staff at the hotel was professional, knowledgeable about the surroundings, pleasant and catered to our every whim! The spa is amazing - do not consider any other property in Jackson Hole!!

I read a review on tripadvisor and someone say it was too expensive for what is it. I stayed in the Aman hotel in Marocco and I was 1000 better than this one. It's a really nice hotel, but they could have done better. But the bathroom was amazing. The food at the restaurant is really good, expecially the chocolate cake but the breakfast is expensive (18$ for french toast...).
The pool is made out of really nice stone and large. I didn't try the spa.
Anyway, it's a good hotel, just that I was expecting more for 600 $ a night (and more) they could have done better.
I am use to 5 stars hotel, and this one is not the best, but there is nothing else in Jackson, unless you want the 4 seasons...
