Jackson Pines

We booked Jackson Pines through RCI exchange. This place is not easy to exchange into in the summer time because its wonderful location. This is a very small motel-like facility with only 12 units. I have never stayed in such a small timeshare place before. The hotel is facing a very busy street. Cars passing through constantly. We had a two-bed room. The rooms are medium size. The facility has its own fenced backyard for all the guest to share. There was a gas grill and lawn chairs in the backyard for guests to relax. There was a hot tub in the backyard too. There was no services during the whole week. You had to take out your own garbage and clean up the room otherwise they will charge your credit card. They provided enough supplies in the kitchen and bathroom, but no shampoo.
There was no air conditioner, but they provided several fans. During the summer day the room could be very hot. But most of the day time, we were out for sight seeing. At evening we had to open the front and back door to cool down the room temperature. Fortunately, there was no mosquito or bugs.
The units were poorly structured We could hear the upstairs noise. It bothered us at night when upstairs people keep walking around.
Although the room was just average, but we loved the convenient location. Walk one block, you are in the Broadway (the main street), full of shops, restaurants, bar, art gallery. Two blocks away , you are in the town square. There were many activities in the town square. Saturday morning , there was a open market in the town square with all kinds of organic produce, bread, and different wonderful products. We also watched a cowboy show at the town square one afternoon.

This place is very close to Grand Teton. 15 to 20 minutes you are in the park. We went into Grand Teton everyday to hike a different trail.

The best thing about this rental is location- right in town (Jackson Hole), so walking distance to restaurants, shops, etc. Also 1/2 drive to Grand Teton National Park. The rooms were relatively clean and we were able to get clean towels mid week (no cleaning during the week)
The negatives, however, are it is a glorified motel room (with a full kitchen/living room). It was not well insulated, so street noise was ever present. It was not well ventilated, but there were fans in the rooms. The only "amenity" was a hot tub on site, not very private and people ignored the posted quiet times.
Pool and laundry facilities were at the Town Center property, but we didn't go there.
One of the lower end RCI exchanges I've stayed in, but proximity to the park was good.

Room Tip: Corner street level probably the noisiest (where we were!)

It isn't too bad of a place. It is a little annoying that the swimming pool and laundry are at town center. They also made sure that groups with children were stuck on the end units, which were smaller than the others. On the plus, the management is friendly, there is specified parking and it is clean and is conveniently located. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: The rooms by the walkway are larger

Cons: Very old 15" TV from the 80's with no video audio for a dvd player or game consoles. It did have a VHS player and you had to pay to rent tapes. Bedroom had a 9" 80's TV, reception was awful. Very unsafe slippery kitchen floor resulting in two injuries. Laundry was all the way at the town center and you had to pay after walking down a dark alley on the adjacent street with no security lighting. No staff or maintenance on grounds, they are only in twice a week. Porch light was out, couldn't call anyone to replace it, couldn't see going into unit. Floor heat just conjures up all the carpet smells, and it could not be set to your comfort. Hot tub was not in service. Person next door had a barking dog. Unit is very small. Pros: It was clean.

We spent New Years Eve through 1/7 at Jackson Pines. We originally had a 1BR, but they upgraded us to a 2br.

We were in #12 on the second floor. The beds were comfortable, the place was very clean and comfortable. The heat in the floor was nice and keep the place warm all over. Nice to have heated floors in the bathroom!

The carpet was low quality and had no padding, resulting in hearing lots of noise as other people walk in their rooms. The carpet edges needed work, missing some trim around the tile. Overall it needed replacing.

Our bedrooms backed up to the hallway to the backyard and it was noisy at times, but not after 10pm (Quiet time). Still a noisy place, but no so bad it ever woke me.

The hot tub was nice & hot, but the water needed changing. It's small for this big of a unit (4 people per sign, but 6 could fit easy).

The gas grills worked, but one did not have a working starter.

They kept it clear of snow and ice, clearing the snow frequently.

Lights on the outside were an issue, but they fixed it after a couple of days for the most part. A timer was at fault.

No A/C, so expect it to be noisy with the windows open, since you are in downtown across from the post office.

It wasn't fancy, but was it was homey, and comfortable. The sofa was a sleeper, and the cushions were loose, but not too bad.

The only condiments were salt and pepper. I wish they would just leave condiments from the previous renters. Paper towels and coffee filters were provided.

It was missing a hair dryer. In such a cold environment, they should have one.

I'd stay there again, if I had a good deal. If skiing there again, I'd stay closer to Grand Targhee. The powder is so much better there, and it's a 1.5 hour drive from Jackson across the pass.

There were books for loan, and movie rentals. All TVs were older tubes.

1 bedrooms are small, 2 bedrooms are big.
