“Good would be more 'apt', as better than 'Average' for town centre”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 January 2014

Arrived late after a long drive up from Salina, UT, and through some horrendous traffic, right outside town, so our Research into our Options was minimal. rove into town, down a few streets an then stopped here, asked for Price & Vacancies. Only 3/4 room were left, as there was something of a Policeman's convention going on, so we took it.

Simple, clean largish room with bathroom, TV, fridge, Laundry Room (in Service) down some stairs, Ice Dispenser (free), WiFi and within walking distance of loads of Bars, Restaurants (we actually went to Blue Lion by car in the end though), Shops, and their Bizarre Square - arches made from Elk Antlers !

So we dined out (no 'IN' Option). Ditto breakfast.

Loads of off-street parking - essential in busy town centre.

We had a really good nights sleep,, until early morning traffic - like 05.30 (air brakes should be banned) - as the local Road Crew started work right outside our Room. Brilliant, and whilst the hotel/Inn cannot be blamed for them it did rather mar our stay.

Seems there is a pretty huge road widening, improving, bypass build, or whatever programme going on. We did not get the impression it would be over any time soon, so bear that in mind when planning a visit.

Recommended as a Good Inn, overnight stop. Unfair to compare to Hotels, which we didn't and besides the price tag was quite reasonable (not cheap) at $85 in mid-May 2013

Room Tip: Upstairs Rooms are quite a hike due to stairs. Be warned for those with lots of luggage or mobility...

My wife and I both felt that the cabin was immaculate and well appointed. The location was perfect for shopping. Would stay here again and would reccomend this inn very highly. The appliances made our stay even better.

It is wonderful hearing that the two of you had a nice stay in one of our well appointed cabins we offer at the property. We love to hear when guest enjoy the kitchenettes that are in the cabins. Guest's find that the kitchenettes are a perfect way to enjoy a cooked meal at your very own cozy cabin right downtown Jackson. Thank you and come back to see us again soon!

Very well managed place with nice rooms. We particularly liked the central park with tables and barbecues - no problem to have a small family party! Or just work through your mails using the free wifi. Price is rather high, but that's probably usual in thei area...

We arrived in Jackson a little earlier than official check-in but were warmly welcomed and told that we could indeed check-in straight away.

We stayed in a Standard room on the top floor (as we had requested). It was a very good sized room with two beds, a lovely TV, fridge and microwave. It was clean and quiet but a little dark and the view was nothing special. I was pleased to find that they had a guest laundry which I used.

The Elk Country Inn is not the best place we've ever stayed but it did what we need it to do; it provided a comfortable place to spend a night en route to Yellowstone.

If you stay here don't forget to have one of the cookies they put out in the evening; they are lovely!

In terms of location, Jackson is fairly small so it was easy to walk into the main part of town from the Inn. Most of the buildings and rooms are set back from the road and we couldn't hear a thing.

Room Tip: I don't think that I would have liked to stay in one of the lower ground floor rooms, they looke...

My husband and I took and impromptu family trip (with our mature 125 lb dog). The Elk Country Inn was perfect from start to finish! The staff welcomed us and helped us select the perfect accommodations (they have many options) for our stay. We stayed in one of the pet-friend (not deluxe) king-bed cabins. Miles provided a map and highlighted dog-friendly spaces around town and gave our pooch a goody bag. The grounds of the hotel have a grassy space that is dog friendly with bags and trash bins. (After being trapped in the car for several hours, our puppy was glad to stretch his legs)
The cabin was clean!! It was a little dated, but the bed was comfortable, the pillows were super-fluffy and the sheets and linens were soft and spotless. The cabin was simple and met every need. We were pleasantly surprised by the small kitchenette with 2-burner stove. Basic plates and cookware were provided. The bathroom was cozy but adequate. It was very pleasant. It is within walking distance to some stores. It was quiet and we had a relaxing stay. Please note that breakfast is not provided, but the staff always has great recommendations for food. Thank you!

Room Tip: The cabins were perfect! Pet friendly. No unattended pets.

Jackson is quite the tourist town - which makes getting reasonably priced rooms a bit tricky, even in the off season.
We were happy with the Elk Country Inn, situated only a couple of blocks from the main street and easy walking distance to everywhere we wanted to visit in Jackson. Room is standard, inn is well maintained & clean. Fridge in the room was a major bonus, there is also a microwave which we didn't use.
Free wifi with password was quite reliable, although constantly having to log in was a little annoying.
There is also a laundry & fitness room at the inn (which we didn't use).

There is free coffee in reception in the mornings, but we recommend getting coffee from Pearl St Bagels (they have espresso!)

Room Tip: If booking a cabin style room - check the location. Some have porches that look out onto the car par...
