It was our first visit to jackson, we stayed in a cabin, planned on staying for two days and ended up staying for a week. The staff was great, rooms were clean, beds very comfy, great location and homemade cookies every night. Highly recommended and we will be back. Ryan and Amy from California

Room Tip: cabins are great

We stayed at Elk Country Inn again this year in their cabins. Just a great place to stay. Close to town and within walking distance to shopping and dining. Their cabins are clean and the towels are really, really thick. I also like their bedding. The beds are very comfortable. This is the place to stay in Jackson!!! Staff is really great, also.

Room Tip: An economical place to stay. Cabins facing Flat Laurel Creek Street are more private.

I've stayed in Jackson five times both winter skiing andsummerfly fishing. This year was my first time at the Elk Country Inn, and it was very enjoyable..Beautiful clean rooms, bathrooms as well, love the rustic furnishings! Beds were extremely comfortable and had four pillows each. The work area was well situated, along with lots of closet and drawer space.

The staff was friendly and informative. Afternoon cookies were great! Best of all the rates were extremely affordable. I will surely stay at the Elk again on my next trip

Room Tip: If you go for a room over a cabin ask for the window facing the mountain, not the building side next...

A bit late writing this review. Overall a great option if you will be spending 4+ nights in the Jackson area. For shorter trips the more economical options in town will suffice, but for a week long stay, it's nice to rent a cabin. We stayed in peak ski season and Elk Country was well situated to take advantage of dining options in town as well as skiing at JH resort which was serviced by the hotel's own courtesy bus. The cabins are clean and warm even on the coldest winter night. A slight detraction from the experience was the fact that there were multiple horse trailers directly surrounding our cabin filled with horses in them making noise and being utilized as early as 5:AM which woke me up on 2 occasions during our 7 night stay. Still, overall, enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone looking to enjoy the Jackson area in winter.

My wife, our two chihuahuas and myself arrived at the Elk Country Inn in mid-afternoon on Sept 12. Having previously reserved our room, the desk staff was super friendly and helpful, quickly showing us our ground-floor room. The inn is structured around a large grassy park, with ample parking. There are BBQ grills in the park for those who enjoy grilling and they were in full usage.

Surrounded by high ridges, you can easily discern the nearby ski slopes. We followed the staff's recommendation and ate at the nearby Snake River Brew Pub. Dinner was very good and reasonably priced. The beer sampler was a good buy, serving an ale, a porter and an IPA. I opted for the ale for dinner, my wife enjoying a margarita.

The inn is a superb central base from which to explore the wonders, and I mean wonders, of Grand Teton National Park! Jutting skyward on the western edge of the Snake River plain, the snow-clad peaks are simply awesome. Majestic Mt. Moran dominates the view, the Three Sisters just to the south. Jackson Lake to the north provides an amazing photo of the mountains from atop Signal Mountain and you should make that location a must during your visit.

We stayed two days, taking breakfast and dinner the second day at Bubba's BBQ, right next door to the inn. Excellent for breakfast, they really shine at dinner.

Grand Teton National Park is a place everyone should see and you couldn't do better anywhere in Jackson to see it from than the Elk Country Inn.

The log cabin was full of character and comfortable and warm. The heat pump was quite noisy and there was no difference between low and high fan on the heating cycle.
The cabin size was fine for two people but probably a bit small for more than this.
The plastic plates and the small glasses were a bit below the quality of this unit.
However overall it was a very good place to stay and convenient to the main town restaurants and bars. The complimentary morning fruit and the evening cookie were much appreciated.
We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: Cabins on the main access facing the central lawn area get the morning sun
