Great museum, beautiful mansion, well worth the $10.00. Such a history of the Ivinson's life and how much they accomplished in Laramie. The tour was wonderful and the guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Also learned that Laramie was the first town to hold a municipal election, on September 6, 1870. So, the first woman who voted in the United States was a Laramie resident; she is believed to be seventy-year-old Mrs. Louisa Swain. Laramie also had the first jury upon which women served - in March and April of 1870. The first woman bailiff in the world was Mrs. Martha Gymons-Boies in Laramie. Just such a wonderful place, go visit, enjoy the beautiful grounds and take some time to learn the history.
