Beautiful drive with a great lookout at 10,800 feet. Stopped at several points to enjoy small lakes and stark rock walls. Glad we took this drive out of Laramie instead of driving straight on I-80.

Absolute beauty! Grab a map, loop around as much as you have time for. We saw moose and a bear once we got off the main roads. Saratoga has some good lunch options.

Forests, lakes. Easy to drive through. But 60 miles from Laramie on I-80. Suggest traveling to 130 from Laramie and taking 130 back to Laramie for dinner

My husband and I decided on a whim to drive through Medicine Bow on our way from Ft. Collins to Riverton, WY and boy were we pleasantly surprised. My husband had actually visited Mirror Lake once before with his family and so we decided to take the Snowy Range scenic drive through the National Forrest and stop at the lake as well. It's a beautiful, high-altitude drive that tops out with panoramic views of the mountains and a little lookout post that looks like a castle turret! The road back to the Mirror Lake picnic area was closed due to snow so we had to turn around and park a little ways back up the road in a pull off. We hiked the Lakes trail (about 1 mile) and had a little picnic before heading back to the car. There was quite a bit of snow still on the trail in July but it was a great payoff! Would love to return and spend more than just an afternoon in the Medicine Bow National Forest - definitely a hidden jewel!

The Snowy Range Mountains west of Laramie are some of the most beautiful in Wyoming. Fish, hike, camp or drive over the range to the hot pools in Saratoga.
