Outstanding coffee, food & one-of-a-kind coffee shop/bookstore. out strips Starbucks with its glitz & buzz, offering instead comfort, room and friendly folk.

The food and baked goods are always fresh and tasty. Good selection of books. A nice alternative for coffee and meals - my regular weekend spot.

The owners are welcoming and friendly. They have a great collection of old and interesting books as well as newer best sellers. The coffee is delicious and won't cost you an arm and a leg. It's one of my favorite places to go to relax and unwind.

There has been a book store at this location for many years, but only when I looked recently did I see that they'd started serving coffee, pastries, and sandwiches. Coffee and espresso drinks are pretty good and reasonably priced; one patron told me he'd started getting his coffee here because Coal Creek, around the corner, had raised prices to stratospheric levels. Sandwiches and wraps also good and reasonably priced. About the only thing that was not a good deal was the pastries, which were overpriced. Limited seating; could use a few more tables. Lots of interesting and unusual books to browse. Worth a stop!

Night Heron is a classic old/new books store with the added interest of very good coffee, soups, wraps, and panini sandwiches. Vegan food is available, but it's mainly more normal breakfast and lunch fare. They have their own bakery, and they do that really right: it isn't the heavy 70's style hippie bread, but more like French style baking that's lighter and crusty. You can buy loaves to go, as well. Try it. They're open from 8AM to 6PM seven days a week.
