“Superb customer service. A real ranch experience”
Reviewed 27 July 2013

I can't say enough good things about Vee Bar, it's management, staff and the entire ranch experience that they create. Brent and Kari treat you like you were either a next door neighbor or a long lost friend. The wranglers were well experienced in horses and did a great job making every experience pleasurable. All had ranching or extensive equine backgrounds and were very professional. Many were animal science students at U-W or elsewhere. I have a lot of farming, animal science, and even some Wyo ranch background and I did not expect the experience to be as realistic as it was. I relished exposing my kids to sorting and moving cattle. I was introduced to barrel racing, etc. Brent and Kari bring to their jobs an interesting mix of ranch, animal science, musical and education backgrounds. Both are warm, caring people. They've truly built something special. So go ride at Vee Bar, enjoy the music, shoot a gun, catch a trout, sort some cattle and meet some amazing people: both guests and staff. You'll also see some diverse and interesting scenery. It's worth every penny. Can't wait to return!

When you read all the reviews about the Vee Bar you'd think Kari and Brent wrote them all but after the most amazing week I can assure you Trip Advisor is the only thing this lovely couple haven't fixed to give you the perfect trip away.

The cabins are comfortable and well appointed, we had number 8 by the river. We had great weather so our daughter enjoyed the river tubbing but we thought it would also make perfect romantic winter retreat. The John Wayne Saloon Bar is a 2 min walk away but a guest list of probably no more than 28 and all the activity means nobody kept us awake with late nights and its run on an honesty basis and has games and pool. The food is hearty, plentiful and very good indeed, don't expect to shift any extra pounds while at the Vee Bar!

The horse riding is truly amazing. The horses are well trained, willing and safe. My wife and I are non- riders but within 2 hours of being in the driving seat we were lopping along and within 3 days we were thinking of selling up back home to become cowboy and cow girl ;) The countryside is beautiful with wide open ranges, forest trails and meadows to stretch the horses legs in so its never dull riding. We stayed over night in cabins in the mountains, an overly friendly fox put pay to my wife's tenting comfort levels. We had a cowboy play on his guitar over a camp fire and sing The British Are Coming to us.....or was that at us? lol We herded cattle from out the hills down to lower grazing and shouted yip yip at them as we did so, what's not to enjoy?

I must finish with the people because what really makes this a truly wonderful holiday is Brent, Kari and the team. The house team were friendly and fun, always willing to help or assist. The wranglers helped us get in the saddle quickly and get on with enjoying Wyoming. Tommy, Tucker and Larson are the ideal guest house Wranglers both fun and engaging while assuring you they are looking out for your safety at all times and if you can get your horse next to Tommy's he'll tell you a tall tale or two!

Thanks to the Vee Bar I'm currently laying on a beach in Mexico missing Wyoming more than anyone should after just 6 days with this team that have become new friends.

The Vee Bar Guest Ranch was the most amazing family vacation we have ever taken. We wanted a real western experience and that is exactly what we had. This was my son's (11) first time riding a horse. The wranglers and staff were outstanding and extremely patient teaching him to ride. Our cabin had everything we needed to feel like we were at home. Our family enjoyed playing cards in the saloon, herding cattle, exploring the beautiful terrain on horseback, eating outstanding food and taking dance lessons from the beautiful wranglers. Our family would highly recommend a week at the Vee Bar. We have already planned a return trip .

We needed a quick getaway to relax from the stress of life and this was really the perfect place to do this. The lack of cell phone reception forced some much-needed seclusion from life. We rented one of the riverside cabins and it was absolutely perfect! It was an anniversary weekend, but we also brought our 11 month old. The experience was truly worth every penny and we are already planning our next trip there!! If you're looking for a beautifully unique vacation spot, this IS the place.

We stayed here during the Bed & Breakfast season and had a wonderful time. Our room was lovely and very clean with every comfort. The breakfast was first rate and the weekend cocktail hour and dinner was very memorable. We also enjoyed hanging out and playing cards and pool in the John Wayne Saloon. All the staff are warm and welcoming. We will definitely return.

We stayed at one of the suites over the weekend. The suite is nice and spacious. Food was delicious and freshly made. The place is amazing and the service is outstanding. The personal touches were an added bonus. Will definitely try to go back in the summer when they have horseback riding, etc.

Even though it was the dead of winter and 8 below the staff at the VeeBar couldn't of been nicer and more accommodating. We were the only guest and opted for a little old cabin which was quaint and well heated and well maintained. Wen toured the newer guest houses and they are all lovely. We will definitely be back, as most of the guests comment. My boyfriend is planning a trip there in summer with his son to ride horses, rope, river float, hot tub and take advantage off all the guest ranch as to offer. I am also excited about going back when the place is in full swing.

Dale the chef had our homemade, wonderful, hearty breakfast waiting for us at 8am both days in the lodge with the fire place burning. Perfectly cooked and freshly baked. We had dinner there too and the food was very good. Breakfast is included in the reasonable room tab.

Kari and Brent run then place and they couldn't be more friendly; stopping by our dinner and breakfast table to check in and offer assistance and reminding us that the ENTIRE PLACE was ours to mosey. Nothing is locked so we can visit any area we want. The great saloon is even on the honor system. The salon is very cozy just like the lodge.

Our new friend; KITTY-BOY was a 14 year old, spry orange tabby that kept us company while we read in the lodge in front of the fire. We can't wait to come back and visit him later in the year.

Room Tip: All of them. The ones next to the lodge are newer.
