I have read all of the reviews here both good and bad and felt I wanted to contribute. We were travelling through the BigHorns and did not have a reservation for this particular night. We called the Inn, they had a room, the price was decent, so we reserved and drove right on in. Let me say that I do understand some of the reviews as far as: this is not a new or classy/upscale hotel, and some of the furniture & carpet is definitely showing wear. It is run by a husband/wife team and they do have small children. But we found the couple to be very nice and it did not bother us that their children were in the foyer/behind the counter. We found them adorable, but then we have a small grandchild and we love kids & accepted the fact that they live there-this is their home. Our room & bath was very clean & tidy, the towels and sheets were not the very highest quality but they were clean and acceptable. The bed was, again, not top of the line but comfy enough that we slept fine. (The only issue we had was the bottom sheet was not fitted & so it crumpled up quite a bit but we still slept fine). When we checked out we thanked the couple and told them we thought they were doing a good job. We have found that when travelling it is best to keep a positive attitude and try to keep perspective about the type of place you are renting, how much you are paying, and if you can accept "average" or not. I am not saying that anyone should have to accept dirty rooms, or old broken down mattresses, or mistreatment by owners or workers. That is unacceptable at any level. All I am saying is evaluate your expectations and decide if you can or cannot accept "average", then plan accordingly. I hope this helps.

The hotel is just out of the centre is close to the main highway, so easy to find. the room was reasonable with two large beds, though the furniture was a little old and dated. Coffee making facilities were available, and I think iron and ironing board were at reception.

Breakfast was simple, juice, toast and iced pastries.

We are currently in the process of remodeling our rooms. This includes painting and putting in some newer furniture in the rooms.

We called ahead to confirm a downstairs, no smoking room when we found no rooms in Powell. I misread the Garmin, thinking I called an Econo Lodge. The desk clerk, apparently the live-in manager, had sloppy appearance, with a very young child running around behind the desk. The room was awful; the sheet on the queen bed appeared to be an over stretched double size, not covering the stained mattress, the blanket was so worn it looked like a Swiss cheese slice, there were no wash clothes in the not-so-clean bathroom, and the furniture was broken, I had not expected a lot but the rate was way over priced for such a dump. There was a loud party on the parking lot till after 2:30 AM, complete with a bon-fire in a pickup truck. Management did nothing and we didn't sleep much, leaving as early as possibe.

I am sorry your stay was not enjoyable, we try to help our guest have the best night they can here in Lovell so they can awake rested and ready to enjoy all the Big Horns have to offer. To help our guests do so we have gotten new beds. We have setup a rose garden in the front of our hotel. We are building a back patio this spring with tables and a barbecue. This is a live-in managed hotel so we are on site 24/7 to help you with anything you need night or day. We do not have any children at this time, however we do have two well trained dog, they are servive dogs and very frendly.

If you are into dirty bathtubs, wacky smells, broken mattresses, stained pillows, uncleaned toilets, and carpet that even Satan himself would not walk on, then welcome to the econo inn. I've stayed in some bad hotels, but this one shamed them all. All I can say is take some pride in your business, rather than charge a competitive rate for this mess. Drive on to Powell or Cody, you'll be glad you did.

This was our last stop on a month-long trip through parts of Europe and the US in the summer of 2008. All we were looking for was an economical, comfortable pair of rooms for one night. We were quite happy with what we got at the Econo Inn. We hadn't originally planned to stay in Lovell, so we made our reservation on the fly. We told the manager/proprietor (not sure which) that we would be there before midnight, but in fact it was closer to 1:00 a.m. Still, he came out to the desk after we rang, got us checked in with no grumbling about the lateness of the hour, gave us some weather and traveling tips, and sent us off to bed. This is not a fancy place--just your average roadside motel, which is why it gets three starts in our rating--but we weren't looking for fancy. I would really view it as "very good" because it was just what we needed at the time. We had two rooms, both were large and comfortable, and we all had a good night's sleep. I don't know whether we stayed there under the new management or not, but it certainly sounds like the folks are doing their best to make it a clean, friendly place. You don't have a lot of choices in Lovell, but our family had no complaints about the choice we made. Bonus: we had breakfast at the Switchback Grill on Main Street. Fantastic! Give it a try.
